Hi All:
So I finally get the 02 tanks at home and I'm embarrassed to bring one to work. I know I'm being silly, but I can't leave it in my car and I don't want to answer questions from curious eyes at work. And I would have to leave the tank in my boss's office - he's very understanding, but I would have to go through the whole spiel about the CH's, which he still thinks are Migraines as his wife gets them >:( - need to get over this. Any advice, suggestions??? I feel like an idiot, what should I care what anyone thinks, but I do. Plus I feel once I understand they still won't have a clue.

I went to HR they gave me a special place to sit out of everyones veiw. When I have to swich the tanks I just come in early.

2 things.....there is a page on CH.com somewhere that has been posted that is something you print out to give to them. It saves alot of explaining because the paper does it all. And it specifically addresses the migraine issue.

Also, do you have them at day time normally? I have only ever had about 4 during the daytime, so ended up carrying my work tank home. Wasn't worth having it sit around the office being in my way.

I'm sorry, is this a joke. When I am having a CH, I would do anything to stop the pain. I would run around town naked if it would help and not care what anyone thinks. If CO aborts the headache, who cares what people think. Just be glad that CO works.

Thanks Rev and Gena: I've located that file you referred to Rev and I'll speak to HR about it. I don't know of a place where I can go out of view except my car. I've given my boss some info on clusters but according to "his research", they're just a stronger form of migraines, I told him to check out this website. Thanks again!

I used to keep my 02 in the car when I went to work, when I started getting hit night and day didn't care took it in to work too. I worked in retail and always found a quite place to use it. All my bosses were in my corner and understanding, all they had to do is see me with a kp10 and anything goes. Swallow your pride and do what it takes.

Try a utility closet or store room. Or a corner of the Ladies. Put a chair there for when youget hit...

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I may have found a place towards the back of the office, there's some storage rooms back there that I might be able to go into when to use the 02. I'll speak to one of my co-workers about holding the tank in the laboratory, which is next to the storage rooms. Thanks again!

Deac, I hope you are another Deac... But CO works once, and I hope you were meaning O2????

CO should only be used to controll a CH when you can't stand the idea of havin' one more CH... One session with CO and you will be no more! ;;D .......

As for maria.... Why should you need to tell anyone anything? it ain't their head is it?

Hell if asked I'd say it was laffin gas and let it go at that unless there was a real need to know...

Like most my ch's come in evening and later at night, and so only shadows happen in day time... I can deal with those...

Like others I indeed would run naked in the streets if that made some difference...

Imitrex injectors work for me with 1/3rd dose, and so one day there i will be with a needle stuck in my bod somewhere with a "Q" Tip pushin in that 1/3rd dose and I bet that will get a few looks! Screw em!

Maybe you outta start wearin lots of black leather or somethin' as you seem to need a dose of "BAD ASS"

I hope I can say that here, and AM NOT calling anyone a name....

I grew up with that "What will other folks think" bit and I have gotten over that as you can see... Simply put who cares what they think.... it ain't none of their friggin bee's wax....

And don't ask the Boss... Be assertive and just tell him you have a med condition that requires O2 and let it at that.. he doesn't need a note from mommy, the doc, and or God....

I can't see why you even need to leave your desk area.... When mine come on I just go to my O2 and thats that, unless I don't have a way to get to them and then it is injection time... if drivin I do pull over and stop, but that is because of the Imtrex hits me kinda hard at first and I have to collect myself..

I really think the lesson here is be assertive.... Mac

I know just where you're coming from. You should be able to use it with no questions asked. I know people are curious, but it's really none of their business.
If you can get away from your desk instantly to get the O2, and storing it is better, then do so. Or just tell them some real nice lookin dude just strolled by and took your breath away. :o ;)
