Title: Restaurants near Convention and beyond. Post by Jayne on Jun 28th, 2004, 6:15pm I drove to the hotel today and parked and went for a walk to see what was within walking distance. Here we go. The Acorn (awesome restaurant) http://www.theacornrestaurant.com/ This place is across the street from the hotel. It has a wonderful upscale atmoshphere and will acomodate smokers. The portions are HUGE, I have dined there a couple of times and the food is excellent. Prices range from $16-$28 for an entree. If you want a big party of 20 or more though you have to book and you have to spend $2000 including food and alcohol, so I would say not a good place for a large party, but if you want to take your loved one for a nice dinner it would suit just fine. Osaka Japanese restaurant. One block from the hotel. They will accomodate smokers. A little pricey. 615-329-3368 P.F.Changs Chinese Bistro 1/2 a block away from the hotel. http://www.pfchangs.com/ Great upscale atmosphere. From $10 and up. Small smoking section (the bar and outside patio) They will not take large reservations at the weekend. Cantina. (Mexican) Across the street. Will take a large party and will accomodate smokers. It is a no frills mexican joint. 329-0360 Houstons. across the street 1 block. Good place to eat but it is 1st come 1st served. They will accomodate smokers. Flemings Steakhouse. 1/2 block away. http://www.flemingssteakhouse.com/ Pricey and non smoking. Great food though and classy atmoshpere. Ruths Chris steakhouse. http://www.ruthschris.com/ MY ALL TIME FAVORITE. Pricey and YUMMY. Their steak is better than most of the sex I have ever had. Great atmoshpere and they will accomodate smokers. It is too far to walk but the hotel will run a shuttle for you. Nashville has a ton of resteraunts it would take me a week of sitting here to tell you about them. If you see a restaunt on the link below that you would like to try, please email me and I can tell you if it is good or not. I have been to most of them for dinner over my time here in Nashville or I will know someone who has. But, Cathy, for your big party I would say your first instinct is probably right. It seems the resteraunts get greedy if they know you are bringing a large party. Boundry restaurant. Shuttle drive away. about 5 minutes. http://www.pansouth.net/boundry-index.htmVery hip joint. Great food, posey patrons. They will accomodate smokers and you cannot book after 6.30pm for a large party. 20 people and more will be a set menu of $32 per head and up...see what I mean about them getting greedy with a large party.. and more http://www.digitalcity.com/nashville/best/main.adp?page=board2k3 Phew....I'm off to make myself some porridge |

Title: Re: Restaurants near Convention and beyond. Post by Jayne on Jun 29th, 2004, 9:49am Yes there is a BBQ joint on Broadway. Jack's BBQ I think. You will have to drive down to Broadway though or get the hotel shuttle. There are plenty on places that play music on Broadway and on Printers alley. Also lot's and lot's of places to eat. There is a DIVE bar across the street that plays errrrr "music" but don't put your drink down in that place. I also think our Hotel bar will play music too. I would say if you want to hear music, get your arse down to Broadway, you can arrange drop off and pick up with the hotel. I believe Mortons isn't too far from the hotel either, again a car drive. (Me thinks) OK WHO'S EXCITED???? P.S the mexican joint is really NO FRILLS, but cheap and cheerful I bet. |
