Title: About last night...
Post by Jeepgun on Jun 28th, 2004, 3:00pm
You slipped in through my window on a moonbeam and roused me from sleep, whispering in my ear. You hovered over my body, caressing me here and there, looking for a soft, tender place to plant your kiss. Your voice was high and soft as you moved closer... ever closer...

And then I smashed the FUCK out of you, you fucking mosquito!!  >:( ;;D [smiley=laugh.gif]

Poetic Justice. The mosquito is the most dangerous animal in the world. It's responsible for over a million deaths worldwide per year. Sleep tight.   ;;D

We've already had a few 'documented' cases of West Niles here this summer.......it killed alot of horses last year and we no longer have blue jays....it killed alot of owls too. Problem is people and animals get it and don't realize it......just get mild symtoms........and then they become carriers. Mosquito's bite them then others......and........it goes from there. As with everything.......it's a deadly cycle. The disease's goal is to destroy it's host yet keep others infected alive long enuff to unsuspectantly spread it more till it decides to destroy them. The beast comes in many forms Pam

Personally I think aids can be spread that way also but no one is talking.

Have thought that forever, myself.  Funny how not much is said about it......... :-/

Probably because people are terrified of the implications, if it's true that AIDS can be spread via the vector of mosquitos. That's a pretty scary proposition. Fortunately, mosquitos don't live long enough to go from host to host, so the chances are, I assume, nil. Still, it's a scary thought.

I got west nile virus a couple years ago, it was a mild case. Does this mean I am a carrier? And if you get it once, can you get it again?
Is the resident M.D. available to answer this question?

As Owen Newitt, the sheep herder on Vicar Of Dibley said: "Moses was a prick. He had a chance to wipe out all the useless creatures and what did he do? Saved the lot."

Up here, we have a few nice weeks in May with no skeeters and then it's us and them.  >:(

It's why I like October.

Why I like living in Vegas...........

no hurricanes
no blizzards
very little rain
1 inch of snow (every 4th year)
no tornados
no fog
no earthquakes
And.........no mosquitoes!  :D

LOL... I'll come up more twisted stuff. ;;D By the way, it was Noah who supposedly built an ark and collected and saved two of every single species of animal and housed them all.

Until you do, here's one, author unknown

The tranquil chirping songbird
Resting gently on my sill.

It's lovely echoing harmony
Yet lingering in my ears still.

While lovely still its song remained,
The chirp itself became quite dull.

Thus I gently closed my window
And crushed it's fucking skull.

Don't need to be a doc to answer that...
A virus is a virus. Once you have it, you have it.
Depending on what virus it is it may stick around and get progressively worse, it may come and go, or it may go completely dormant once you've gone through the initial fight with it.

Examples of each;
aids... Doesn't go away.
herpes I and II, come and go.
Chicken pox, once you've had it you're done with it.

But they're all still there forever.

I think west nile is like chiken pox... Or let's hope for your sake! You should be somewhat "immunized" now.

About carrying it... I'm not sure, but it would be my guess that once the symptoms are gone, just like chicken pox, so is the danger of spreading it.

Chicken pox... I got that wonderful disease at the age of 22. I thought I was going to die. Having it comparatively late in life means that it may emerge again, as I grow older, as shingles. Hey, the fun never ends, right?  >:(

Title: Re: About last night...
Post by Superpain on Jun 29th, 2004, 4:10pm
I got chicken pox when I was 5 or 6, and it's something I'll never forget. I had em everywhere... Ears nose, throat... Everywhere.

The only thing that ever compared as far as the skin irritation goes was a BAD poison ivy experience.
When I was 9 we moved into a house with a tree near the back of the house with a vine about 2" thick growing up it. I still don't know why I wanted to cut that vine down, but I did. It was July, I was sweating with just shorts and shoes on, and in one way or another I managed to cover just about every inch of my body with poison ivy juice.... :P Same deal, ears, nose, throat, and everywhere else you don't even want to think about having poison ivy! :o It was fucking awful....

The back acre of my property has a lot of poison ivy. So far, I've been very fortunate. Then again, when I'm tramping around back there, I wear jeans and boots. (Leftover habit from living in the desert/mountains)
