Last night or rather this morning at about 2:00am in chat we were notified that Carl had taken a tumble and had suffered a head injury.

Apparently a friend of Carl's went to see him and found Carl on the floor. When asked what he was doing there, Carl reportedly answered in true cluster smartass fashion that he was examining the carpet fibers.

Carl's friend also related that Carl had a pretty good knot on his head.

The friend did not call for ambulance or doctors advice, rather dumped him back in bed, jumped into chat and told us and then left.

Since the extent of the head injury was unknown, I called his sister-in-law and asked that someone go check up on him. She related his brother would go check on him.

I spoke with his sister-in-law this afternoon, who related Carl was fine. I apparently woke her up, so she did not elaberate on what fine meant. I didn't push the issue.

The person we chatted with this morning said Carl could not make his doctor's appointment today, because he couldn't get a ride to the doctor's office. The friend also said something about Carl going to be admitted into the hospital.

The last time I communicated with Carl, the pain in his legs had spread to the rest of his body and he was seriously hurting. This on top of the CH.

If anyone has any updates on his condition, please let us know. Are there any clusterheads in Granite City, IL that could help him out?

I was just thinking about him today wondering if he made hsi doctors appointment and what they said was goin on.......now that is loyalty isn't it Pam

Hope he is ok and gets to the bottom of what is causein all the EXTRA pain........he needs to find that out NOW not tomarrow ! Why couldn't the sister-in-law take him or brother help get him to the docs....sheesh...finding out the problem is goin to be quite a mile stone here ya know.....good luck to him !

Ya know, if I could not get a ride to the Docs and unbelievable pain had spread through out my whole body I would call 911....but thats just me I guess.

I am a wuss. If I had unbelievable inexplicable pain spread throughout half of my foot I would be calling 911.

But then again, I have extremely attractive feet. ;;D

Um.....I think there was a small problem considerin callin 911.........no phone..........no cell phone if I am correct. Tin cup phone prolly wasn't workin either Pam

You are right...he has no phone. When his "friend" found him he was disoriented. We were going to call 911 if in fact Gator was not able to get in touch with Carl's Brother.

Both Blue Meanie and Gator really did an outstanding job last night...my thanks to you two gentlemen.

We can hope that a hospital visit will help with the pain too. Ya never know.

Damn, there should have been some way to get to the MD. That sucks.

What about MCT - Madison County Transit (www.mct.org). They have a van service for people who cannot use regular buses. If needed, I will call people and pull strings to make sure they consider him eligible - I grew up in Madison County and know some people that can help. If he can't drive, they should be there for him. They might give a catch-22 (we need a letter from your doctor) but since he is trying to GET to the doctor, I think they can be persuaded.

Carl (or any friend of Carl's that knows the situation), send me a personal message if you want some assistance on these lines. I will be happy to do whatever I can.

Sometimes wish we were not so far away.........
Poor guy's had a helluva time lately, and has no-one right with him to support and help him. Its just wonderful that you all got together and got this happening. Wonderful!
