Title: Still awake, damnit! Post by Carl_D on Jun 17th, 2004, 12:38pm Since I awoke sunday morning, I have had a combined total of 2 1/2 hours of sleep. Usually, the fear of CH will keep me awake. Not so right now. I WANT sleep. I'm in so much fucking pain with my legs though, it won't allow me to even doze off. As a result, I am groggy as hell, seeing things move out of the corners of my eye, and just out of it. Gotta keep my shit together though. Going to my brothers house in a bit to help celebrate my nieces official transference to teenland (she turns 13 today.) Waiting for my cousin to pick me up, due to the fact I can't even walk the 2 blocks to my brothers house. Now I am just wondering how many more days I'll be kept awake by this shit, until my body just gives out from exhaustion. So far my record for no sleep is 146 hours straight. Can you say I N S O M N I A? Peace, Carl D |

Get your butt to a doc after the Teenager Induction Ceremony and get help. I would really hate for something bad (like this ain't already bad enough) to happen to you. Take care of yourself. Gator |

Title: Re: Still awake, damnit! Post by firebrix on Jun 17th, 2004, 6:09pm Maybe a few hours with teenagers will do the trick Carl! They can be pretty exhausting and I just watch them! Try to enjoy the party and then please see your doctor. Pretty please with sugar on top. Even the toughest need rest. You are doing really well but you need to sleep sometimes. Wishing you a much better day firebrix |

Title: Re: Still awake, damnit! Post by Kevin_M on Jun 17th, 2004, 7:40pm 146 hours? Wow, the most I could ever do, and it was plenty of times, was 100 hrs. That is the equvilent of waking up Monday morning and going to bed Friday afternoon. You halucinate at that point. Them little things moving out of the corner of your eyes, it's like you look at them and then the brain doesn't quite comprehend what it is seeing, but you can keep seeing some funny things there. Thinking is on a different level. Man Carl, that sounds like some situation. Hope there's some explaination soon. PF vibes to you and get some sleep to help get your self rejuvinated a bit. Get it whenever you can. Kevin M |

Title: Re: Still awake, damnit! Post by tgz23 on Jun 17th, 2004, 9:56pm Wow, unreal, my record is somewhere around 80 hrs. Things look different, things sound different, it's like living in a surreal world. In this state you're unsafe to yourself and others. See the doc, watch a boring movie or whatever it takes. Best of luck to you Carl. Tim |

Title: Re: Still awake, damnit! Post by Carl_D on Jun 17th, 2004, 11:30pm Just got back from my brothers a bit ago. I was miserable from the lack of sleep and overwhelming pain, but tried not to show it. Since I couldn't afford to buy my niece what i wanted to get her for her bday, instead I burned a few CD's for her that she wanted badly, and surprised her with a ring that was my mothers. I told her I have been holding onto it until she was old enough to appreciate it. She flipped. Anymore, I live for the kids; her and my little 4 year old nephew Elijah, who is autistic. As soon as I got there today, he ran up to me and gave me a big hug. I sat down in the rocker/recliner, and E loves to jump up in my lap and rock with me. Well tonight was no exception. He jumped up on my lap and the jolt of pain I got almost made me piss myself. I just scooted over as much as I could, and sat him next to me and rocked with him. When my brother dropped me off, it took me almost five minutes to make it up the steps to my apartment. As soon as I got inside the door, I was so lightheaded I kind of collapsed for a few minutes. I almost feel drunk. My air isn't working too well right now either, so my apartment is quite uncomfortable. Since I sat down here a few ago, the numb tingly feeling has slowly spread from my arms to the rest of my body. I haven't had a CH attack in over 30 hours, but am shadowing so damn hard I'm almost scared to lie down. Gonna have to though pretty soon. I'm gonna check messages, write a couple of emails, and prolly go into HSG chat for a bit. Was supposed to go to the bands studio tomorrow to work for the weekend, but it looks like I'm gonna have to piss the guys off yet again and cancel. I can barely fucking walk, let alone attempt to do drum tracks. Mike can be pushy at times, but right now is not the time to try and push me to do something. I'm liable to just say "Fuckit - I quit!" I just took my sleep meds again, but they haven't worked at all the past few nights. Don't worry about me though - I'm pretty used to the sleep deprivation. Gotta get a grip here too before I fall out of my chair. WEEEEEEEEEEE! Peace, Carl D P.S. - The Doc moved my appt from July 1st to next Wed. the 23rd. Now the big challenge will be finding a way there. |
