Title: Re: Pic of the Day (Sat. June, 12th) Post by firebrix on Jun 12th, 2004, 5:42pm Well, Jimmy_B I've never seen Mt Taranaki looking quite like that - wonderful pic. Usually, its shrouded in mist -I've only seen it once!We work near there once a year and the trip is always interesting - the roads are narrow and winding and always full of road works, the mountain seems enormous, and cars pass thru' two tunnels cut thru' the rock faces of the hills which drop steeply to the sea. The West Coast is WILD! Will take some pix of the tunnels next time we're down there and a pic of that big mountain which has a big rhododendron park near its base. Awesome 4WD country. Cool to see a bit of NZ on here - Thanks! firebrix |
