BTW...

The pic of your baby with the toy on his head was great.
I think it was you who posted that one.

I've got a real cute one of my daughter like that that I'm trying to find.

Well, thank you so much Exploding!  I have lots of fun taking pics of him as you can tell! LOL!  Definately try to post one of your daughter.  I just love kids!

Luke, Wisconsin would be a good locale too, I know that Elizabeth Goodman offered a few years ago to host a convention also.  I know there'd be many here to help her, I being one of them.

CHICAGO PLLEEEAAASE!!!!!!

It would be such a cool place. It has everything. Hotels, Museums, Lake Michigan, Great Food, Great site seeing.

Plus, I could drive there in under an hour.

Mel,

I don't want to go to crazy posting pics. I literally have thousands of pictures of her.

Note that the title "Looking for Hosts" is key.  Not only looking for a place but a person to have it.

Are those offering cities volunteering to host?

Chicago sounds like a fairly mid-section of the country kind of place. Maybe time it with the blues fest :o  or the jazz fest  8).  Plus I can drive ther in a little over an hour ;;D.

Ok, we're looking for members to host convention in their area....  Come on -- it's FUN (not to mention a "little" work involved) and there's always someone to help -- just pick up the phone - you'll have emergency numbers.

Hey Bob -- what's ya got in CA -- You're good at putting conventions together.... Show everyone what CalOUCH is all about....

Chicago is a great place for a convention. I just HATE O'hare airport (think it's been long enough -- I may can go back there now!!!)

We're looking for sites for the next three years.  Now is the time to get your bids in.....

If it is in Chicago, count me out.

I will NEVER, EVER go to Chicago's O'Hare Airport (again) as long as I live!

Chicago's O'Hare Airport SUCKS!   >:(

Chicago has the Midway airport too.  Big hub for Southwest.  Other airlines fly there.  Just an alternative.

two words

DAVENPORT, IOWA

Or the Quad Cities.....
Ramon and I can host it.

It is CENTRALLY LOCATED.

We had a GREAT turnout just for the Meet N Greet in January.    Over 30 people.........

OR - Ramon and I can host it in Chicago... or Rockford, Illinois... either way.  But Davenport has lots of porches..... and it's not BIG and confusing as Chicago....

As a matter of fact -  I used to work for a casino in Bettendorf, Iowa - and they have a HUGE hotel... with a convention center.  They have a night club, 4 star restaurant,  a convention center... and the casino .. all in the same place.    It's perfect, and I still have JUICE there.   I could probably get us a hellova deal on hotel rates.   AND - the casino has a shuttle that will pick up people from the airport..... convenient.   AND - they have THEMED rooms.........  ( LMAO! )

The resort is RIGHT on the river.. very pretty........

Just a thought............

Personally, I like the link that Elaine put up.

http://www.lakelanierislands.com/

It's close to an international airport, Atlanta is always cheap to fly into because everything goes through Atlanta.  It's within driving distance for a lot of ch'ers.

It seems to have accomodation for every price range...anywhere from $25 a night to camp, to as much as you want to spend.  You can even put 10 people on a houseboat, and they have lakeside villas to rent too.

It has horseback riding, beaches where we can hang out, the states largest waterpark, golf....and numerous meeting facilities.

You did good on this one E...... 8)

I loved Atlanta, but it was very hot and humid when I was there in 2001 for the convention.  Maybe if it was in late Aug. or Sept. or perhaps early June?  I don't know which months are less humid.  The heat don't bother me, it's that gosh darn humidity. ;;D  Georgia is a gorgeous state!

Oh yeah, and Turts, I would be SO up for a convention in Australia!!!!!!! ;;D ;;D ;;D
