Title: watta weekend!    --- UPDATED
Post by brain_cramps on Jun 8th, 2004, 10:16am
OK - in no particular order...

Congrats to the Tampa Bay Lightning for winning a hard-fought series over the Calgary Flames.  It would have been nice to see Stanley take a ride down a Canadian street for the first time in 10 years but maybe next year.

Nashville is officially a no-go for me.   On the weekend I talked to a brother of mine that runs a travel agency and he told me that trying to get into the US right now would probably only screw up my chances for years.  I guess that this convention, and those for the next few years, are out of the question for me.

I had a number of relatives in town this weekend for my mom&dad's 50th Anniversary.  We just had a small party because of dad's failing health.

For those of you who were here last October, you might remember my dad's fight with cancer.  While things seemed to be going great for months, after the guests left yesterday, things took a turn for the worse.  Last night, he was admitted to the hospital with apparent kidney failure.  They will be doing a number of tests today and hopefully I'll know more later in the day.  Any prayers and vibes would be appreciated.

Thanks,
grant

I'm so sorry to hear about your father. Wishing all of you strength, courage, peace, and blessings. May the highest good for all concerned be done.

Sorry to hear you won't be making the convention, either...

Hang in there, pal.

Don't say the word "blaster"  I just got my official walking papers from Creative Labs - the Sound Blaster people.  I'm still pissed off about it.

Just a quick update.  Dad had surgery on one of his kidneys on Wed AM and was released on Friday at 5.

After about a month of no appetite, he started to regain it.  The next day his dinner was 2 hrs late and cold.   "WTF are they trying to do?   Kill me?"   :o

They seem to be doing ok since they have a nurse come in a couple times a week for an hour.

I'll keep you updated.

Thanks everyone for the prayers, thoughts, vibes, etc...
Grant
