Title: My Little Dragon
Post by Mark C on Jun 5th, 2004, 9:30pm
My 8 year old Son has been taking a style of Kung-Fu called My Jong-Law Horn (http://www.albertakungfu.ca/style/forms.html) and for the last year and a half he has trained an average of 4 days a week for 1 to 2 hours. He is a natural and is becoming very good. I may be a bit biased (/smile) but he is good. His lineage is very respectable and I am so proud I wanted to share one of the four form he had to demonstrate for his Sifu at his last rank test. He is now a Green belt.

He loves to work out and can do push-up's on his finger tips!

I made a small clip of one his shorter form...this one is called Falon Kune (SP?). Right click and save as, it's about a meg.....I am so proud...click here (http://drfeller.com/Mark/Christian.WMV) to see my little Dragon!

Mark

I know that you only provided the link to the Alberta Kung Fu Association to show information about that particular type of kung fu but oddly enough, a good friend of mine is listed on the Students page.  (Chiki)

Mark, my husband and son are both black belts in Kyokushinkai  form of karate. It is admirable that your son has acheived his green belt, but what he will take from this training is far more valuable.
Saluting your son, and the Bushido spirit!

Very cool Mark.

My parents had me in martial arts when I was younger too.  And we are planning on getting my daughter in it in about a year. My husband says that he wants to knowthat she can defend herself. Then at least when she is older we will know that what ever it was that she did with a guy was her choice, cause if he tried something that she sis not want to do, well then he would be one hurten unit.  ;;D

That's just too cool, Mark.  The martial arts doesn't just teach a person to kick as$.  I teaches them NOT to unless you absolutely must.  Also self discipline, self respect and respect for others.  I hope he takes these lessons to heart as well.  You have a fine looking boy, there and every reason to be proud.  Thanks for posting the video.
