All the bars in Philly tonite are advertising that there's gonna be a "Smarty Party" if Smarty Jones wins the Belmont today and thus the Triple Crown!! I'm excited!! (For those who don't know, Smarty Jones is only the 2nd Pennsylvania horse to win the Kentucky Derby, and his hometown track is Philadelphia Park.) I'm a Kentucky girl myself since I was born in Louisville, but I haven't lived there since 85. My dad ran in the Kentucky Derby marathon when I was a baby, though. :) That race is a big deal in my family! hehe

So anyhow....... GO SMARTY!!! [smiley=sayyes.gif]

Ahhhhhhhh, and I was rooting for Smarty. Have the Smarty Party anyhows ..... he ran a good race, he just didn't come in first ! :(

Yeah he still was a darn good horse!! No shame in getting 2nd!! I've never seen a triple crown winner in my lifetime...someday, though!! We have kentucky derby glasses in our house from 1980 (year i was born) and 1990something. I used to get that glass out for dinner and read all the horses' names and it had markings for triple crown winners and fillies.

Well until next spring!! :)
