Looking more closely at it, I think it's Korean. The Koreans built a ton of subs in the 70's with the offset periscope. Also, the depth rating is considerably shallower than American subs. (Resisting jokes about how much deeper Americans are able to penetrate than our Asian counterparts....) ;;D
