Title: Desert Island Top Ten Albums
Post by Carl_D on May 23rd, 2004, 10:42pm
After enjoying John's thread on movies, I thought I'd do one on music. This one is a real toughy for me, as I LOVE so much different music, as it is music passion.

If you were stranded on a desert island, and you could only have ten compact discs, which ones would they be?
Here is mine:

1. The Beatles - The White Album
2. Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
3. A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step
4. Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon
5. U2 - The Joshua Tree
6. Marilyn Manson - Holywood: In The Shadow of the Valley of Death
7. Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime
8. Radiohead - Hail To The Thief
9. Ozzy Osbourne - Diary of a Madman
10. W.A. Mozart - Requiem

There are so many other albums I love, but it would take all day to list them.
What is your desert island top ten?

Peace,
Carl D

Once again, in no particular order....

1. Eagles - Hotel California
2. Boston - Any Album
3. 38 Special - Best of
4. Patsy Cline - Best of (so shoot me, that woman could sing)
5. Marvin Gaye - Best of

That's all my fuzzy head can come up with now...I'll add some as I think of them....

Wow, this is even harder to think of than movies.  The lighter stuff:

Kate Bush - Hounds Of Love
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
360s - Illuminated
Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation

But to go for the jugular (after all, this is a desert island we're talking about, LOL):

Arch Enemy - Wages of Sin
Slayer - Reign In Blood
Trouble - Manic Frustration
Black Sabbath - Master Of Reality
Emperor - Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk
Tiamat - Wildhoney
Edge of Sanity - Purgatory Afterglow
Opeth - My Arms, Your Hearse

YES! Slayer - Reign in Blood is one of my favorite thrash/death metal albums of all time.
And the Trouble - Man, I am surprised someone else knows who these guys are. "Manic Frustration" is an awesome album.

Peace,
Carl D

P.S. - Bill, nothing at all wrong with Patsy Cline. I love her. I just hope people don't find out I still listen to Shaun Cassidy. What would they think of me then?  ;;D
