Title: Finally finished!..... Post by jonny on May 23rd, 2004, 12:57pm This is a glass rail system from hell that would have looked like shit if anyone else was building it. From the start it was down hill, all demension I was given to build the aluminum shoe which the glass sits in were wrong (Re-work).....So that means all the glass would be the wrong size cause it was already ordered, when the second round of glass showed up two pannles exploded during instillation. I know what I am about to say may be oversimplified, after all the Boing 777 was designed all on CAD and no mock-ups were required. But computers have allowed people who should never design anything in to the design profession. The pencil and a piece of paper, orthographic projection, descriptive geometry, all passed over for electronic glitz. Art and craftsmanship use to be the ultimate talent sieve. I did a roof top garden there on the 13th floor, total nightmare. Not the job, Gilbane the construction manager.
