Title: Iowa Waves Post by Kevin_M on May 22nd, 2004, 5:16pm Who out in Iowa is making these waves across the Midwest. Here in Detroit we have been hit with nothing but thunderstorm and tornado warnings all month. The ground is so saturated here it's hard to find a day to cut the grass. Flood warnings yesterday. We are approaching record levels of rain for the month with nine days to go. They come floating across Illinois and Wisconsin and are smacking us one after another. I saw a weather map and there's still more on the way toward us and Ohio. Nothing but lightning, rain, and tornado warnings. What's going on over in Iowa???? Kevin M |

Yeah, it's similar here too, that's why this weather not changing is so...different. It's just that these are all strong storms, not any rainshower. I'm picking up fallen branches from my trees almost everyday. Never seen such lightning since I lived in Houston. That lightning though seemed to come straight down whereas here it streaks across the sky. Our motto here in MI is: If you don't like the weather, wait an hour, it'll change. Kevin M We're on tornado watch right now again, for the second time today. |

Title: Re: Iowa Waves Post by Cerberus on May 22nd, 2004, 8:32pm Nothing better to report here. Pretty much the same thing...nly good thing is the lake's water levels will be up....bad thing is I can't get enough of a window to mow the lawn or go fishin. Not supposed to improve much all week either. Ramon |

I have heard of sun sightings there, but the Hollywood tabloids here just stopped reporting it. Even they know the public here is not that gullable. Lucky days for you! You Englanders do deserve some of the sun that you've heard actually can shine daily. Good to hear the sunny news. :) Kevin M |

It seems the rainy season has been delayed by sunshine and easterly winds. Send the rain, mebe some t storms but definetly keep the twisters.
