Today it's been 24 years since my last cigarette. 8)

I'm a real PITA but I also want to let you know that you can do it.

Other than the "mechanics" of pipe smoking, I don't miss it at all. Saved a shitload of money anyway.

Congrats Charlie!

I'm considering quitting but I'm not sure when yet. Maybe in a few months after its been a year since quitting drinking. Not sure if I could handle both at the same time yet.

9 months without a drink: saved a LOT of money that i didn't have but would have found a way to get anyways... ::)

You have been a non-smoker as long as I have lived! Wow.

I'm a non-smoker myself, but I have seen how my dad and landlady really struggled in quitting smoking and I know how hard that is. My dad did it, my landlady starts again on Monday.

I wish I could quit. I keep trying but can't.
Just so you know,Here in Baltimore 1 pack-a-day cost $150.00 a month.

Hey Brain_cramps, I know what you mean. I quit drinking in January 2001. It ain't easy lettin' go of all of 'em at once. Impossible for me anyway. Hell,it ain't easy lettin' go of one of 'em at once ;;D

Way to keep on going Charlie!! Wow, that was 2 days after Mount St. Helens erupted (our middle boy just gave a school report on volcanoes). Any correlation between a mountain blowing out tons of ash & you stopping your production of ash? :P ;;D

Good for you Charlie and I am so glad you quit... Who knows maybe you wouldnt have been in NY last year and we would have never met... Meeting you was a high light in my whole Ch convention experience last year. Thanks for quitting.........wish Dave would and be successful............. ree

On my Birthday this year it will be 8 years for me. Yes you all can do it but you have to do it for you or you wont stay stopped. Hell even now when I buy gas I think about buying a pack, but I know if I do I will start all over again. :P

Congratulations. That is one hell of an awesome achievement! I will quit in the near future. I've been thinking about it a lot, and I even have two boxes of patches. Between the patch and Wellbutrin, I can kick these things. Congratulations again!

Charlie I had quit a month before the beast decided to make his first extended visit in March. I started again the day the GP told me I needed an MRI because the first round of Pred helped so well with the HA's. The drug can shrink tumors and that is where he was first headed with this whole thing...so in tears I figured damn if I'm gonna die of a brain tumor why worry about my lungs and baught a pack on the way home. Planning on giving them up again...

Oh come one Bob... Gas isn't that bad in Vegas yet. I;m still paying less then I pay for daycare each week. ::)

Huh? You pay more than $2.30 a gallon for daycare?
Actually gas prices in Vegas are some of the highest in the country.
