Title: Doctors on OUCH list
Post by Liz04 on May 19th, 2004, 4:53am
Most of you know....but in case one of you doesn't...on the OUCH website there is a link entitled "Recommended Doctors."  I was pleased when I saw that my own doctor was actually on the list.  I found my way to him not by the referral list but through my neurologist.

Just a little FYI if there are any interested readers

My general practitioner, Dr. Lynette Adams, in Shelbyville, TN, is not on the list, but she read the medical study printout that I printed from this site, looked at my symptoms and the treatments, and said, "Okay. I'm willing to work with you on this." She isn't a specialist in cluster headaches, but if she got a few more patients with them, she would be.  ;;D

Congratulations, Liz.

GP's can be a waste of time. I have found that the best approach is to either ask around here for references in your area or call local hospitals (the more reputable the better -- i live in Boston, there are many choices).  Look for physician referal lines and ask the operators about headache specialists.  They usually can help.
