Title: Heaven Has a New Angel
Post by ClusterChuck on May 14th, 2004, 8:51pm
Our Honorary Clusterbuddy, Christopher, has made his final voyage.  He is now out of pain, and in a joyous place.  He made his final trip at about 5:30 this morning.

I want to cry, but I know he is in a better place now.  He is happy.  As his mother said, "He was a gift from God, and now I have returned the gift."

He and his family were very prepared and accepting of this voyage.  Christopher spoke to everyone that he wanted to, and gave each of them a personal message.  He was ready to go.  He was as prepared as he could be.  His family was as prepared as they could be.  This has been a very long year.

Tonight, when I spoke to Nancy (OneEyeBlind), his aunt, she was comfortable and felt that the whole family was comfortable with this.

Christopher's family wanted the Clusterville family to know of his passing, and to thank all of you who have been so supportive to him and the whole family.  It has meant so much to all of them.

I know that heaven has a wonderful new angel in their midst.  If he can be as much of an inspiration in heaven as he was here on earth, we are indeed fortunate.

Chuck

An Angel Heaven has now. Life is a journey. Being sad is true...heartfelt,....but rejoicing is a wonderful feeling...an Uplifting feeling. Let us all rejoice in the journey Christopher has taken....knowing he is home...and will be forever triumphant in his life now.

Even though I never met Christopher, I feel I know him. I will be keeping Christopher's memory in my heart and soul forever. So sorry to hear the bad news.

WE LOVE YOU CHRISTOPHER. May you join the Angels from above and keep a watch on us here on earth until it is our time to join you.

"Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end"

I was not here to know you Chistopher or to know your immediate family, but your brave journey is an inspiration to us all.  May your presence be felt by all, and your strength be a lesson to face the future with grace and honor.

My sympathy to the family for the loss, and a candle to help light the way...

When I think of Christopher's passing the refrain from the song "Finally Home" comes to my mind:

But just think of stepping on shore
          and finding it heaven,
    Of touching a hand
          and finding it God's,
    Of breathing new air
          and finding it celestial,
    Of waking up in Glory
          and finding it home.

He fought a good fight and taught us all a lot about living, and we are much righer for him.  Our prayers are with the family and friends right now.

Jerry

I did not mean to leave the song unattributed.  I don't have a copy of it here at the house and I don't  remember the composer.  I think I know who it is but don't want to misattribute it.

(((((((((((((Nancy and Family)))))))))))))))

Nancy,

Christopher is now up in heaven with my Jared.  How sad it is that you will always miss him, but how good it is that he is now out of pain.  He is in the loving, loving arms of God.  Now you have a guardian angel for the rest of your life.  I hope that all of these things can be a comfort to you during this time.

Love you,
Lizzie

Christopher...out of pain...at peace and watching over all he loved.
I never feel badly for the one who has left us, rather for those who must deal with the hole in their world, once that loved one is gone.

Nan, Maryann and all of the family...my sympathy.

Rest in Peace, Chris.

I wanted to share my sister's final message about Christopher with all of you.  We are at peace, and so is Christopher.

Dear Friends and Family,

Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice!

Our beloved Christopher went home to be with the Lord early this morning.
God was merciful in that he did not struggle at the end but was at complete peace, wrapped in the arms of Jesus.
While our hearts are heavy at the loss of someone so special we rest in knowing it was God's sovereign plan for his life. To watch God's faithful hand leading Christopher
through such a difficult time has encouraged many in the faith. For others it has given them the opportunity to see what faith in Christ is all about.
The peace and joy that Christopher possessed throughout, because of his faith, was my greatest reward as his mother.

Jesus said to his disciples in John 14:1-3 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me.
In my father's house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."

Christopher now resides in one of his heavenly Father's mansions.

A celebration of Christopher Smith's life will be held on Sunday at 3 PM at New Buffalo Christian Missionary Alliance Church.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the 4 Diamonds Fund, PO Box 852, M.C. A 120, Hershey, PA  17033

In His Steps,
Chris, Maryann and Family

May the comfort of that peace, be with nancy and the rest of his family in this time of grief.

My sympathies, :'(

If you're interested....Check out
http://www.thon.org

This is the massive fundraiser that raises money for the Four Diamonds Fund through Penn State, which Christopher was a part of.  Four Diamonds families remain families and friends forever, no matter what.  There is a lot of information on the website regarding four diamonds and what THON is all about, including photos.  Haven't looked in awhile to see if there are any photos of Christopher when he was at THON this past February.

Nancy,

I am so very sorry for your family's loss of Christopher.

This was given to me when my Dad died....and I love it!

"When someone you love has died, he will bestow his light on you from wherever he is,

This is his legacy.

In the midst of your loss, this is his gift.

Wait for it; look for it.

Expect it and surely you will receive it."

Please accept my deepest sympathy....know that you are in my thoughts.

Love to you, Nancy and also to Christopher's parents.

Dear God,
Thank you for the opportunity for all of us to know Christopher through his family's eyes.  Thank you for your gift of eternal life.  Please be with Christopher's family during this difficult time, and bring comfort and peace into their hearts knowing that one day they will again enjoy the smiles and laughter and hugs from this courageous young man.  Thank you for taking Christopher home with you, and ending his pain.  It is wonderful to know that he will forever be safe in heaven with you, and he will always be one of our (Clusterville's) most treasured angels.
Amen

Many hugs to Nancy and family.....Little Deb

I'm sure late with this but I guess it was ordained.  So young though. He may have gotten his break but it sure seemed the hard way. Perhaps there is another chapter for him. I hope so.

Thanks for the post Chuck
