Title: out of body experience
Post by carmela on May 2nd, 2004, 6:30pm
One time I had a CH that was so bad I actually jumped right out of my body. I know this sounds crazy but I stood there and watched myself in pain. The part of me that was watching had no pain. It only lasted for about 20 seconds. I have tried to do it again but couldn't. I used to be afraid that if I died the CH would wake me up in my coffin. Any body else ever feel that way or am I a wierdo?

Hope you have lots of PF days and nights

I am generally able to induce the experience at will, when faced with horrendous pain. So far, clusters haven't succeded in doing it for me, though. I was in a bike wreck when I was a teenager, and scraped my face across 25 yards of asphalt. While I lay on the ER table, having gravel picked out of my dislocated jaw, swollen face, and lips, and being sutured inside of my mouth, I hovered over the table, very detached and unemotional, coolly watching the entire procedure. Later on, when I snapped back, it hurt like f*ck.

I did it another time when I got broken ribs in a fight, and then walked home and tried to lay down and go to sleep. Next thing I knew, I was bobbing against the ceiling like a helium balloon, watching myself gasp for breath. The ribs healed after about three months.

Two summers ago, I broke my neck, diving into a pool that was too shallow to be diving into. (Very stupid mistake.) That night, after driving myself to the ER, then lying in bed at home, I awoke to find myself hovering over my house. Just when I began to think of going somewhere, I got pulled back into my body. (Damn! Damn! Damn!)
