Title: Alcohol
Post by rollerzonly61 on Apr 30th, 2004, 6:26pm
Well,
I'm graduating college this weekend, and I'm in the middle of a ch cycle, but I'm gonna try drinking tonight. It's the last time I'll see many of my friends. So to my ch cycle...blow me! Please wish me luck, I'll need it.

Congratulations !!!

Gotta agree with Prense. I usually don't drink in cycle, but if I do, Vodka is the ONLY alcohol that won't trigger a Cluster.

Hope you have an enjoyable PF night.

Well,
thanks for the support, but my F****** head is exploding right now. Maybe a bad idea, but I'm trying to drink away the pain...they only last an hour or so anyway....right? HA Dammit, I wish I wasn't afflicted with these fricking headaches. I'm really putting forth my best effort to have fun rigth now, but I really am dying inside...the right eye is almost shut now. Thanks for the support, I gues only time will tell.

Goddammit,
I suppose drinking may have been the worst idea ever! These are the times when I wonder if I'm lucky because I don't have cancer, or tumors, then again, I also wonder if God just hates me. I cannot take the pain. Why can't it stop??!? I wonder if I am being robbed of memories, because this is the worst time of my life and at the same time, I am spending my weekend with friends that I may never see again. Why me? I know, maybe I'm just selfish, I don't know. I just want the pain to go away. Pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssse!!!!!

Do a triptan!  When I am in an episode and have a social event, I just say 'fuck it' and pack the vial and a few syringes.

Start doing the drinks... the nose starts running... eyelid starts getting heavy... scalp turns three sizes too small... needle tears a hole... life is good again for two hours.

Use the CH to your advantage... wow the ladies by explaining your near-superhuman pain tolerance.  Indicate that the pain you are feeling is about the same as sticking your skull into a wood chipper... then indicate that you will be accepting snoot shortly.

Congrats on wrapping up school!

Wow, you are a hell of a trooper....I pray for the day that I can get a script for injections. I just took an Imitrex pill, but I'm sure you know that does nothing. Well, maybe the ladies can sympathize, ut for now, I think they are wondering if I'm crazy?? Thanks for the help though.

Alright, pain is finally fading. Does this mean I can drink more?? I think that's it for me I guess. H2O for the night. Thank God. It's really amazing how much better life seems when you are not in the midst of a headache. Thank you to everyone for talking me through, it helps more than you know.

So far the imitrex pills still work for Brad slow but 'kinda' sure so don't loose faith in em if that's all ya got. He's yet to try the injections but 'thinkin bout it' for next cycle and were wonderin what new insurence horrors it will cause. Anyhow.....for Brad......when drinkin and he gets hit.......he's DONE for the nite mentally and physically. He rarely comes back out of it in a party mood. Hope ya find a combo that works for ya and you can let the good times roll. Memories of pain rulein over fun Pam

Certainly have that right.  I am in that 'Hey!  Who pissed in my Cocoa Puffs?' mood if I go through one without an escape, let alone communicating during one aside from grunts.  Just as Cootie indicated... 'DONE for the nite'.  Not in a social mood post-CH... just wondering who is going to fix the drywall.

Congrats and I hope you can have a good time. Alcohol wasn't a trigger for me.  From what I read here, you may be getting hit anyway. Why not give it a shot?

Hope you feel better and come out of your drunken coma without the beast.  8)

Gday roller,

Maybe Im a bigger alcoholic than I am a clusterhead hehe ;;D
but I dont let a CH or possible Ch get in the way of socialising. (often)

Ive just gotten home from a 30th b'day.
Mid cycle- but still hit the piss, ( thats I went drinking in non-aussie lingo). My friends,  that is, true friends know about CH and know the visual signs of a CH so they leave me well alone when they see them comin. I get left to dance alone on the balacony, out the front whatever, but they respect what I go through and when i return even with H2O in hand they know. Depending on what Kip it is depends on the level of partying I return too.

so basically, dont let fear of a CH stop you - theres a book called "Feel the fear and do it anyway" the title tells the story "its a self help book"

secondly, like most I cant talk, let alone be able comptrehend what is being said ta respond in conversation, so my true friends basically talk at me to keep me within reality at social do's.

I too am amazed at posting during attack, I usually become an lurker during a hit.

Wishing you the best roller, you will experience this many times throughout life as a clusterhead, you will learn YOUR way to handle this, just dont let the CH handle you

Turts

Congratulations on your graduation.

Typing with my headache, was indeed very difficult. I was pushing my right eyeball through the back of my head. I had enough alcohol in me so that it was maybe only a level 5, 6 at best. Believe it or not, it really helped to keep my mind off of the ch. I'll do anything to keep occupied during an attack. I stayed with the H2O all night afterwards, but I treis my best to have a good time. We'll see how today goes. I may need to try the sauce again...I don't know though.
