I use the 02 at 15 lpm, for up to 15 minutes.  If it hasn't knocked mine out in that length of time, it's not going to do it.  Sometimes I'll stay on longer, just because it helps it to not ramp up as bad.  Been on it for as long as an hour or two at a time.

Here's the link for the 02 information, this should tell you all you need to know:

12-15 litters for 15-20 min.

folks, it should be a NON-rebreather mask!  Read Roxy's link there - it spells it out very clearly.  And she's exactly right, if it doesn't work after about 20 minutes, it probably isn't going to.

Hello,

15 L/min for 15-20 min...... and my beast goes away (not always [smiley=frown.gif])

Good luck!

Alot of O2 for as long as it takes to go away.
I was never able to successfully use the mask, so I sucked off the hose at a high rate of flow and my headaches were usually knocked out in 2-5 minutes, so I can only conclude that "HAVING to use the mask" is a misnomer.

Exactly!  O2 always reduces the intensity for me at least temporarily.  It's only about 40% effective at aborting for me.

Hopefull,

Glad to hear you got your O2. For me it's 12-15 ltrs.  It only works about 35% of the time though. After 20 minutes, if the Beast is still knocking I go to the Imitrex shot instead.

Good Luck !!

8 liters/minute for 15 to 20 minutes.  If that doesn't work, a good jab of imitrex always does! ;;D  I have been able to cut back to about 20% use of imitrex thanks to O2.

Hope you are as successful.  The trick is to catch it as fast as you can.  If you wait too long, it probably won't do it for you.  Good luck

Hopeful, perhaps Opus could help you out with this one.  With Cpap the flow and stuff (hookup and mask) is different so I don't know how you switch from using the tank for that to using it to abort a headache.  Opus has both Cpap and clusters, so he might know.  One thing I know for sure though is ... for the cpap at night DO NOT use a non-rebreather mask.  You can sufficate if you run out of O2 while sleeping.

Hope that helps.
