Title: God save the Queen
Post by fubar on Apr 23rd, 2004, 2:12pm
'cause Fubar is about to invade England.

Leaving on Virgin Atlantic in a couple of hours... Going to be in London for a week.  I have plans to meet up with some drunken wench somewhere (pubgirl) and hopefully some others.

England is doomed.  They've barely gotten over my last visit (which lasted 18 months).

I'll *probably* have Internet access *somewhere* but you know how it is over there.  Bass Akwards and all.  Damn third world countries.  If I can't get online, see y'all in a week.

-Fu

Nice. I have always wanted to fly Virgin, I hear legendary things about it's service.  Have a good trip!

Nobody beats Virgin's Upper Class.  I was lucky enough to fly it regularly between SFO and Heathrow (once every 5 weeks).  On top of an outstanding lounge at the airports, and limo service to/from on each side, they had a real bar/lounge area in the cabin, and you could schedule a manicure or a massage!  Their hiring practices also seemed very discriminatory (in a pleasing way).  Amazing airline.  Amazing owner too.

Hope you have a good time over here - if you're coming anywhere near Norfolk drop me an email!

BTW God Save the Queen absolutely appropriate - HM's birthday on Wednesday, and St George's Day today. (A great advantage to all this tradition being that we don't have to spend our entire lives here deciding between Bush and Kerry as to who gets the job...) :)

Have a good time,

Dolly

Well this just chaps my hide....

I lived in England for almost 18 months and probably saw the big mysterious yellow glowy thing (Americans call it "Sun") maybe 5 times.

NOW... I *visit* England and it's all sunny and, yes, HOT.  England, land of the sun.  Who woulda thunk it?

Will update later...

;;D

Fubar,

Have a good time beyond the pond.  Stay with us with some "accented" posts.
"God Save the Queen", I heard Johnny Rotten actually did not write that song.   ;;D
Hope you brought your sunglasses, it's been fabled there have been sightings, but I don't think the solar powered calculator was first thought of there.
Sounds like a great place too.  If Pubgirl has any connections, get the dimensionally challenged Andy Capp's autograph.
 Have a good trip.

Fu I really would strongly advise you re-think your little get together with Wendy did she mention Paganism to you... ::) okay heres a tip stay well away from the woods and no it is NOT the norm in England to dance naked there at midnight.... ;;D

If i'd read the board yesterday I could have met up with you today I was also in London all day, you probably had a lucky escape.....but im sorry I missed you  :-/

Cathy
