Title: Catlind update Post by Roxy on Apr 23rd, 2004, 12:51pm Talked to Clark and Cat this morning. She is still in the hospital, with no idea of when she will be released. Her white blood cell count is off, her blood pressure is 74/48, there is blood in her urine.....they basically don't know what the hell is going on. They didn't run the scope yesterday, in fact they haven't started any tests yet. She's in a lot of pain, and they are keeping her pretty doped up. She's pretty down right now. They've talked about everything from diverticulitis, kidney stones, renal failure (she is on the renal floor of the hospital), spastic colon....you name it. If anyone is interested in sending a card, or something more personal than an email, her address is: Cathy Lind 8116 S. 152nd. Ave Omaha, NE 68138 She really needs some cheering up. And she is very concerned about OUCH, and people thinking she is just not responding to emails and such. She's going to be down and out of commission for quite awhile. I did try to reassure her that no one is going to be mad that she is not working right now..... ::). Mr. Happy got a pretty good scare when he called the hospital this morning. He called and asked how she was doing, and the woman on the phone said they had found a tumor at the base of her skull. Randy just about died of shock.....turns out that between all the drugs, Cat and her roomate sound alike on the phone. It was the roomate he was talking to. He is still trying to recover from it. |

Cat is trying so hard to be supportive for her, but Cat is so down that it's hard for her to do. Clark can't even stay at the hospital with her, because he's taken emergency leave to stay home with the kids. I'm going to try to get up there and help with the kids so Clark can stay with Cat. Not sure my head is going to let me do anything right now....... >:( |

Mel Gibson H. Christ.........and danged if the dear soul roomie didn't answer the phone today and APOLOGIZED to me. She's got a terminal condition, and still felt bad about upsetting me. Talk about feeling humbled..... Sat afternooon, and Cat still has No Idea what's going on with her body. Clark and Ayden were in for a visit, so I skeedaddled quick (under 10 seconds elapsed time.) Cat's address is listed. Use it. Forget the email/internet crap, and send her a card (or something neato.) They won't let her out till they know what's wrong, but they don't seem to be running any tests...... :-/. They think it might just be a bad allergic reaction to the methadone they had put her on earlier in the month, but I can't figure out how that would cause her severe pain????? She is really down. :'( |

I don't know when you will get to read this message, but just want you to know I've been talking to Tracey and DJ today. They tell me you are stuck in the hospital with people less fortunate healthwise than you are. I know your doctors are not going to let you go until they give you their official "OK". So .. take advantage of the opportunity to take a needed rest (albiet .. not the way you might otherwise want to rest). My understanding is that I'm not out of the woods yet, if there's permanent damage to my small intestine, (many things mentioned - one of them was paralytic bowel syndrome) I will have to have surgery. It's highly unlikely I will get through this without some sort of surgery, but miracles happen everyday :) I guess when they did my CT scan of the abdomen that night in the ER, there was absolutely no question *if* I was going to be admitted, but when as my bowels wee ready to burst. At that point a definite impaction, and either full or partial blockage, and now that they've got part of it cleared out hehe, they have to work on the top part - and that's apparenly where the problem lies with me and exercise Cat |

I have a docs appt today at 1:30, and we are going to go over everything and figure out what to do next. I wanted to thank you all again. My house is a beautiful array of colors now, and I am at least feeling somewhat cheerful with them all around me. Guess that's a good way to lose weight (NOT) since I can't eat ANYTHING sweet. Well I"m working up to it, I can actually eat sugar free jello now too. Clark (Anthem) doesn't think they are going to let me out of the docs office today (it's in the same building as the hospital) and I think *he's* the one full of shit now ;) We'll see, but either he or I will keep you updated. I apologize to anyone that has been waiting on me for info or action, I will get to it as soon as my health allows. Luv to all *hugs* Cat |
