Title: I've met my match,  I think.......
Post by Woobie on Apr 22nd, 2004, 8:56pm
Well...... I dont know WHO gets more excited about meeting the family - ME?  or Leesa?   LMAO.

DavCon04 had me so excited I was about to bust.. I couldn't sleep - couldn't wait - was an emotional wreck.  I guess a LITTLE of that showed thru on the internet.. .(just a little)....

But dayummmm.... Leesa gets pretty excited too!   It's close...........

So - today - my life was threatened.     I guess it would be detrimental to my health if Ramon just went to the convention and not me.........

Since my vacation was denied - and I cant get the time off - i'm gonna have to come up with a minor surgery and take a leave of absense.....LOL.      (which, they'll make me use up my vacation time for - so isn't it the same damned thing?  Grrrrrrr)

LIE like a rug to get to the convention????     Yer damn skippy!

Now that I have come up with that plan - I can now get excited ............

GAME ON LEESA !!!!! ;;D

Bring it.......

I've got the perfect excuse Woobie.

Tell your boss you have cluster headaches and you need to go to Nashville to see a neurologist. Since there will be a guest speaker, you won't be lieing.  :P [smiley=laugh.gif]

Ok just to clear things up a bit...

After Jean threatend woob's life if she didn't go ;;D and Woobie told me what she would probably have to do. I told her all she had to do was go into the human resources dept. at the job and say:

"I need to take a leave of absence, it is personal family business."

They have no right to know what for if you state that it is personal. If they ask all she has to say is:

"Its not something that I will discuss with you since you are not Family...it is none of your business."

The job has no "right" to know, even if she requests a leave and they are going to make her use her vacation time. It might even be illegal for them to even ask in this state. If it were FMLA it might be different.

SO.....GAME ON! ;;D

So, does this mean I have a vacant seat in my car?

A friend of mine works in health care and she was denied this comeing weekend off for an annual event we all look forward to and help put on. She told them it's time off for personal family business.....she put in her request off 3 months ago and they require at least 6 weeks notice. They told her she had NO RIGHT to pic her own time off for anything......THEY will pick time off for her no matter what the situation is. She can not decide on her own and plan a certain time off. WTF......what is up with these neo nazi establishments !!!! Needless to say......she IS not goin into work that day.....she will work Friday and she will go in Sunday.....but NOT Sat. So.....she's not sure what will happen after this weekend and may be out a job. I find this sort of crap totally rediculous and it pisses me off to NO END. (esp puttin in notice 3 months in advance !!!) OK.....gettin on a role here. Job people suck Pam

PS: To make matters worse it is an annual charity poker run event we put on "every year" at this time and get a big newspaper article and publicity about it in our local paper and all the money we make goes to needy establishments and one year we 'helped' the fire dept buy some equiptment they needed.

I plan on telling the boss that my one armed grandmother is coming to town with two suitcases and I need to be there to carry one.

Thomas, considder that seat empty (give Redd a ride she lives in WI.) ;) in the case of some really wierd turn of events I'll use my car and drive.

Coots....healthcare organizations sometimes have specific rules about leave and time off...it may very well be that she has no right to take the time according to company policy.
Woobie, however, works in a casino and as far as we can tell she asked for the time in vacation and we'll find out probably tonight if it got denied a second time, in which case she will request a leave and they will make her use her vacation time to take it so one way or another she's off.

Can't wait!

LMAO!!!!

Can't Woobs just call in sick instead of losing vacation time?

Ginny,

There is some kind of strange point system at her job, if she calls in sick they deduct points and she gets closer to job loss. Besides, this way she still gets paid.
