I am banging my head, not just over CH's, but trying to find a way to convention this year. I desperately want to go, and will do just about anything to make it this year. I tried to work for my old boss doing a music booth this summer, and would have made enough to get me to Nashville, but it fell through. I have no car, otherwise I'd just drive there.
Is there anyone passing through the midwest that could pick me up on the way? If I can find a way there, I'll do whatever I can to get registered, and not worried about a hotel room. I'll just skip sleep for the weekend and hang wherever after hours. I want to meet all of the CH family here, as you all have given me so much strength and support over the last few years.
I don't really believe in a god, but am praying anyway that I make it to convention. Not going again for the 5th year in a row would bum me out really really really bad.

Carl the best i could do is throw in $20 bucks to help towrds bus ticket. Sorry I would love to go to but a trip for 4 is more then I can afford.

If you can get there via Southwest Airlines, I'll pick up the airfare for you. I was issued a voucher on Southwest a while back for being bumped, and I'd be happy to help you get there with it. Let me know. Book it and I will go to the ticket desk here and pay for it with my voucher.

Deal! - I will call Lambert airport tomorrow to see if southwest flies out of there. That would be an incredible blessing!

Carl,

Don't sweat it if Southworst doesn't work for you. I have like 300,000 miles on Delta too, so if I have to I'll burn some of those. United is also an option, but one I'd rather not use as I only have about 50,000 on them.

Obviously, Southworst would be the preferred one on my end. But no sweat if it doesn't work.

Heck, it's just a plane ticket to me... I fly 100,000 miles a year. The LAST thing I want to do with my miles is, uh, USE them to actually fly somewhere! Out of the 2 1/2 million miles I've earned so far, I've given away 90% of them to friends and family, and CH counts as family. Once, I used miles to fly my (now ex) wife and I to Turkey (first class) for a 12 day cruise through the Mediterranean. That would have been really fun with someone else. Hell, that would have been more fun with a rabid dog. Maybe someday I’ll find someone a little more fun to travel with, but for now I’m happy to help a family member out.

No big hero thing about it, just a relative value thing. Plus, it’s a kind of selfish thing on my part anyway cause I get so much satisfaction out of doing it. ‘Nuff said. Now shaddup.

Real cool Fu. Hope it works out. I looked up where you live Carl and it's like 4 hours one way. I was thinking if all else fails, I might drive to get ya and take ya to Nashville, if you could swing another ride home from Nashville(or from southern Indiana/Louisville, Ky.)

Nope, sorry. I hope you all have an excellent time though.

I will be in London, however, from this Friday to next Thursday. I'm going to meet up with pubgirl and a few other natives and see how much English beer I can drink. I take that back, I drink Irish mostly (Guinness).

Then you can stow away in my luggage. BTW, we'll be taking Northwest, and I won't save you any airplane food cause i wouldn't even feed that to a dog. I'll buy you a bottle of water and some protein bars, the flight is only about 3 hrs with 1 layover.

FUBAR,
I just got an offer to ride from St Louis with a fellow St Louisian, Jim Ham. I prefer wheels over wings, so I am gonna ride with him and his wife Sue. Maybe there is someone else in our CH family who could use the frequent flyer points you offered - I just wish you were making it to convention.
