Title: Bravest. Person. Ever. Post by Rock_Lobster on Apr 15th, 2004, 10:58pm I typically avoid political topics like the plague. Thus, this is not commentary on whether or not the US should be in Iraq. However, it is commentary on the incredible braveness of the amazing Italian hostage who was slaughtered by those cockbites on video yesterday. Frattini recounted the contents of the tape, apparently described to him by the ambassador to Qatar, who watched the video and identified the victim. "This boy, as the assassins were pointing the gun at him, tried to take off his hood and shouted: 'Now I'll show you how an Italian dies,'" Frattini said, adding, "He died as a hero." In-f'n-credible. 1000 times the man I could ever hope to be. Rock |

Title: Re: Bravest. Person. Ever. Post by Edski_1 on Apr 16th, 2004, 6:08pm Kudos-I guess-for the guy being so brave...as for having more courage than the average CH suffer? I think a lot of us on this board have been through a lot and started the Beast down. More of us might have that in us than we think. :) God Bless the innocent that are caught in that mess. |

Title: Re: Bravest. Person. Ever. Post by Mark C on Apr 16th, 2004, 8:00pm Because I (WE) are so passionate about politics and religon etc I have tried to stay out of such threads. This is not one of those threads...this about the difference between heros and cowards (for lack of a better term). The story is here (http://english.pravda.ru/accidents/21/93/375/12524_hostage.html). Thank you Italy! For more heros look here (http://lunaville.org/warcasualties/Summary.aspx). Title: Re: Bravest. Person. Ever. Post by HypnoticFreddy on Apr 16th, 2004, 8:38pm Can't imagine what it would be like to be held hostage with a mask over your face not knowing if you are about to be tortured and killed. It is some messed up world we are in and it doesn't look like it is getting better. I am grateful to be an American and feel relatively safe here, but who knows what the future holds for me, and for my my 2 yr old nieces. -Scott |
