Title: Can't Be On long.Eyes
Post by Mr.YL on Apr 12th, 2004, 9:25pm
Hi crew, just a note to let you all know that It is very hard to be on the computer at this time...I am having problems with my eyes... They feel as if their bakin from the inside Out. I am still in cycle, Ya once again, what a bite in the quality of life as you all know...Flourescents bake em also...One of my neuros has informed me that this has been seen in other suffers. I have had my eyes checked many times but they check out ok...I wish I could spend more time infront of the screen as I have alot of work to do still.Wanted you all to know that I have not bailed, and hope to be back just as soon as this problem with the eyes goes away. If the history repeats its self then about 4 wqeeks after my cycle breaks(Praying I have not turned chronic) the eye thing will disipate. So for now I am fighting the beast with a early morning dose of 480 mg Verapamil and O2, and lots of clean water... Take care now...all of you. Mr.YL

Something ya might wanna try is turning up the refresh rate of your monitor.  It seems that the default refresh rate in most circumstances is around 60 Hz, which I find nearly unbearable, even when not in cycle (my monitor at werk is set at 60 Hz, and they refuse to change it... ARGH!).  At home, I have all my monitors set to the highest refresh rate that the system can handle (Anything higher than 75 Hz seems to work well enough).  Hope this help.  Good luck!

Yo ho on both drugs......but I'm a STRONG proponent of breaking all Verap into 3 equal doses Every Eight Hours, no questions asked or excuses accepted (standard release only, thank you very much.) That's just Me and My protocol. We all got our own churches, eh?
O2 's a winner at all times, even when it doesn't help. At least it keeps you occupied.

Keep your aim Hi........

Finally, someone with some of the same trouble as me!  This is why I love this site so much!

Monitors and flourescent lights (almost any bright light sometimes) do me in.  Also can't watch television for more than about 30 minutes.  Set my display up at 1024x768@85 hertz.  Helped some, but still have to take a lot of breaks from it.  (REALLY sucks for a computer junkie)  My computer at work was set to 60 hertz, also.  Tried setting it higher, but the old monitor couldn't handle it.  So between the lights, the monitor and the daily attacks during working hours, I don't work.  Fucking disability insurance company (part of my employee's health insurance that I help pay for) is screwing with me hard trying to keep from paying up - bastards!  You know, when I first got hit with this thing, I said I' never wish this on my worst enemy.  Now there is an ever growing list of people that I would inflict this on in a minute if I could.

Anyways, Mr.YL.  You ain't alone with the eyes thing and neither am I anymore! (Again with the mixed emotions - see man bites dog post)  Sorry for you, really I am, but at the same time kind of validates my problems, though.

Hope we both find a solution, soon.  E-mail me if you get it figured out.  I'll do the same for you.

Gator

I steer away as much as I can from my monitor....and when I'm on it and I'm not feelin so hot  I just cover my right eye with my hans and type like a 4year old with my left...does the job I guess...
