Title: Re: CH poll (dont kill me) Post by thomas on Apr 7th, 2004, 3:26pm I'm not sure, lately I've had some really weird stuff happening with my head, I think I also have cph, and I've been getting this weird headache on the top of my head, they hurt, but I've had ch so long that my pain tolerance is otherworldly to say the least. I don't take anything for them, I think maybe they are tension ha's, but they don't bother me enough to worry. ;;D |

Title: Re: CH poll (dont kill me) Post by floridian on Apr 7th, 2004, 3:29pm I get aura, but it never has developed into a migraine. It occurs randomly through the year, or if I over-exert myself. The aura is never connected to clusters either (the beast only visits in the summer). |

Title: Re: CH poll (dont kill me) Post by renny on Apr 7th, 2004, 3:55pm Leesa, I don't guess I'd know a migraine if I fell over one...I know I've never had a HA last more than 2-3 hours, and I've never vomited from one. So my answer is negative, count me lucky just to have good ole' CH. karen :) |

Caffeine withdrawal headaches for the last couple weeks but after the first few days, they've been a walk in the park. hopefully, they're gone soon. grant |

Title: Re: CH poll (dont kill me) Post by HypnoticFreddy on Apr 7th, 2004, 9:13pm I actually get 2-3 textbook migraines per year too. They only started to happen after I had a photoinduced-seizure from TheSuperMind (a machine that flashes a light at high frequencies and is supposed to do something with your brains alpha waves). That was in 1993. My parents think that whole incident are the reasons for me having cluster headaches. Not too sure. At the time, after a battery of tests (EEGs, MRIs, etc.,), the prognosis, "stay away from blinkin lights kid!" -Freddy |

Freddy, I've heard a variety of answers regarding this issue. I wouldn't think that it would help clusters, but maybe for some people? However, sometimes people do wind up getting them for certain types of migraine. Actually, it is usually that something else goes wrong and they have to do the surgery, and then the migraine is effected by it. Menstrual migraine is the main one I heard could be relieved by the surgery, however some of the people who I know who've had it done said their migraines got worse, and some said they stayed the same. It's always disappointing when that happens when the doc assures them beforehand that this is going to take the migraines away or at least make them a lot less frequent! I don't think I'll be trying this any time soon...unless I would absolutely have to! Lizzie :) |

Title: Re: CH poll (dont kill me) Post by Callico_Kid on Apr 8th, 2004, 3:53am I used to get migraines as a kid, morphed into CH in my mid twenties. I occasionally get them now, but usually only in the rare times without CH. I will usually get a migraine if I have gone for more than two days without CH, but the severity is much less than when I was a kid, or my tolerance has gotten greater. jc |

Title: Re: CH poll (dont kill me) Post by Leesa on Apr 8th, 2004, 12:38pm Pegase, I dont have CH but Dave has both. I just get the Migraines they make me weak, vomit, eyes go blurey, and cant lift my head off the damn pillow. I can be that way for DAYS!!! Longest Ive had was 2 weeks when my oldest 2 kids were little (ages 3 and 4) Ive lost work over it, even a job over it! Cant eat a damn thing, cant even cry cuz it hurts so damn bad I just cant and wont move not even to pee!!!! The only thing that helps me is a DARK room, no noise at all, and something to knock my ass out for a few hours or days. I dont care what pain you suffer CH, migraine, CPH, or any other head ache, its still fucking hurts!!! Pain is PAIN no matter how you look at it!!! But thats just me a little ole Migraine sufferer. Ill go to my corner now. Thank you. Leesa |

Title: Re: CH poll (dont kill me) Post by stuey on Apr 13th, 2004, 10:29am Pegase, migraines last up to three days in some, cause naseau, vomiting in some, some have auras, some people smell things (I smell bleach when I get them), and to me what I've noticed is that I am very sensitive to light and sound. When I have CH attacks I also avoid light and noise but with migraines I remain absolutely still and lie down, while CH you gotta keep moving and pacing which you already know and you curse GOd much more. |
