Head check?

Ok, last I checked I had two ... Neither one works very well ...  The one on my shoulders has CCH, so not much changes there, and let's not go into why the other doesn't work!

I am cch.  I quit taking all meds for my ch 3 weeks ago in an attempts to step out in faith and believe in God for a healing from these curresed attacks.  I have been pain free since.  This is the longest I have been pain free in 6 years without meds. I don't know if I am just having a little break here before it kicks back in full cycle or if I am turning eposodic or if in fact I am healed.  I will take it one day at a time and time will tell.  Either way I am gratefull to God for not having to dance or take the heavy narcotics I was on.

ECH, ending a sticky bout started last October.  Getting to where last seven days only had three hits that required abortives.  I think it's just bored with me, I'm too easy.

I need a vacation.

ex-CCH.  I say ex because I went pain free for more than 3 months.  Unfortunately, things are cranking up again and I haven't had any chance to take care of it yet.  I'm not worried because I know I can slap this down as soon as I get a night to myself.

I guess I would be called episodic now.  Never thought *that* would be cool, but it is.

CCH. I've been getting hit twice a day for the last 8 days. Is there such a thing as an episodic/chronic? I normally get 5 or 6 a week.

Title: Re: Head check...
Post by Dave_Emond on Apr 7th, 2004, 2:07am
Hmm ... average 4 attacks per every day/night since January 2001. January through March, then again in September average close to 15 attacks? per day/night, can't count them during these times.
As we're now in April I'm waiting to go back to "normal" and "only" have about 4 attacks per day/night again.
Down to about 10 per over the the last week, so a bit frustrated that's it not dropping quicker as in previous years. But 5 less is a lot less!

The thing that really impresses me about this thread is to see so many who are pain free, yet stick around and support everyone! Amazing group we have here!
And thanks to those who do that!
Dave

Started out CCH in my 20's....crossed over to ECH in my 30's....am nearing the end of a cycle that started in January, my first since Summer 2001. That's the longest I've ever gone between cycles.
I don't know how I went from chronic to episodic, I do know that I was taking Verapamil, and Lithium when it happened. Chronics define character and courage on a daily basis....at least in my eyes they do.

ECH for 20 years, get a cycle about every 18 months.

Relative PF for the last week, thanks to verap and melatonin. Some shadows here and there, but those are just an annoyance. Not ready to say this cycle is over yet, though.

From some of your posts, even the ECH bouts can last for months, so I think it's too soon to tell yet.  My first CH bout lasted approximately 6 weeks, then about a  2 week reprieve, then constant background with 3 to 5 major attacks per day since end of January 2004.

Been on the edge looking down a few times.  My wife and this website are about all that keeps me sane (relatively speaking anyways)
