Title: Judging Amy and ER
Post by buckeyescooter on Apr 4th, 2004, 11:01am
Hey guys....just a little fyi. I'm going to be on "Judging Amy" this Tuesday the 6th, and ER on the 8th.
I only have one scene on Judging Amy and I believe it happens in the first 15 minutes. I play a pretty shady character named Carl Barson who's a drug dealer....the scene takes place in the courtroom.
On ER I have 2-3 scenes and I play a character who they think is drug seeking, (are you guys seeing a pattern here?), I just hope it doesn't get edited too much. Just look for the clusterhead with the furrows in the forehead.
Later this month on "NYPD BLUE", I play a guy who gets busted in a "massage parlor and I had to do one of the scenes in my underwear. Horrifying, considering I was bloated on the ole predisone at the time.
I give you this information not out of ego, but rather joy and excitement. It's so nice to talk to people who KNOW. Nuff said.

Good goin buckeye!  I will definately look for you, even though I have NO idea what you look like!  I don't suppose you have a pic of yourself to post?  Would make things lots easier.  If not, that's ok too.  Was it always a dream of yours to be an actor?  It was mine at one time.... who knows, maybe someday when I'm 50 or 60yrs old, I'll get noticed, LMAO!

Hey Pitt. Joe....got my start doing theatre....it's the best training ground there is. I used to drive over to Pittsburgh from Columbus to audition for movies back in the early 90's. They shot a lot of stuff there ie, "Silence of the Lambs", "Striking Distance", Etc. ...they could make downtown look like NYC and save big money on production costs. I wish I could post a picture but I am truly computer illiterate....I've been typing this for 45 minutes.
I would love to get an airbrush "TAT"....my wife would laugh her ass off. I really want to make it to Nashville. 8)

Post by PittsburghJoe on Apr 4th, 2004, 4:27pm
Buckeye, yeah theater is a great training ground. And Pittsburgh is sometimes a great place to get movie work, though all I've done so far is extra and stand-in work. I've worked on Innocent Blood, Hoffa, Money for Nothing, The Fire Next Time, Cemetery Club, Citizen Cohn and The West Wing from here. Not a bad record, really. Still, one of these days I'd love to give LA a shot. Who knows, maybe some day...

Glad to hear so many clusterheads will be watching....in the "ER" episode I actually am carrying my Zomig inhaler in my jacket pocket.  Be prepared. Had my 02 tank in my trailer.....thankfully didn't have to use it.
Just got a call for a last second audition today at 3:45 for "CSI".....feeling a little amped on prednisone, (at the tail end of my taper), but figure I'll go for it anyway. I've had a much tougher time on prednisone this go round....I feel like I'm going to jump out of my skin sometimes. Can't wait to get off it. Hopefully the Verap and new anti-seizure Gabitril have taken hold by now. At least it's warding off the beast. I just hate the anxious feeling the pred can cause....all for now.

Gabitril did not do much for me.  I was only on 8m at night. But at least I did not have the side effects that Topomax did.

Damn it though you all are making me miss Theatre even more. It was my minor and I have not done it since I had my daughter.  The only outlet I get now is making Ren Faire costumes and having a kick in Character when we go.

I dont watch TV much but I'll try and remember to turn them on.

Break a leg and good luck on the CSI Audition.

Maybe apply it towards Nashville? Oh well, I'll just do my best and see how things shake out.

Hey there,

You had quite a few lines and nice close ups.  Alright.

Man, did you talk yer *ss off on the stand with such a matter-of-fact attitude.  What a cleaned up drug dealer though.  ER should be interesting.  I've never watched one episode of ER (or "Judging Amy" either) but caught your act.  Course, when your role was done, that's all for me.  Looking forward to seeing you again on ER.  I knew that damn box would be good for something sometime.

Ok girls, now he's a star.  Which eye is his clusters on??

Yes Arby, I was the dude who got shot on "24" last week. Sorry it's taken so long to check in.....crazy night with the kids. Means a lot that so many of you watched.
I have a little more to do on "ER" on Thursday, hopefully it won't get cut. Just don't think of me as a traitor when they find out my "real" reason for being drug seeking. You'll know what I mean once you see it.
Down to 20 mgs on prednisone for the next two days.....ready to get off that train. Stuff makes me crazy. Hopefully the beast is on it's way out.
Oh by the way, did NOT get "CSI".....oh well, on to the next. Once again, thanks....it means a lot ;;D

Its also proof that being a clusterhead doesn't mean we have to give up living :-)!

Awesome Buckeye! A Clusterhead getting some kind of good out of something so bad.

BTW, when you make it into the bigtime and start doing movies with The Rock or David Spade (Ya never know, it could happen,) I have a book almost finished that needs to be edited and re-written for screenplay, just let some of the heavies know they would be doing alot of people justice to pick up on it and make it a movie.
The book is very interesting and grabs you from the beginning...
"It was a dark and stormy night..."

Sorry, having Snoopy flashbacks from too many Flinstones chewables. Dayum! Two Betty's and a Wilma and I am flying!

Good job, will be watchin (taping) you tomorrow night on ER.

Just wanted to check in and say thanks again for all the nice messages....I sure hope they don't cut my scenes in "ER" tonight. I ran into the director of tonights episode a few weeks back and she said they..(the producers)...were very happy with my performance, but with a big show like "ER" with so many characters you just never know. Good job Buckeye!
Whether "M" or CH, at least the message of the high cost of Imitrex was mentioned and how the common folk couldn't afford it. When the doc understood and wouldn't turn him in, just backed up the fact.

Don't these shows get a lot of mail from fans of the show about characters they like and want to see again?
I'm thinking that this character has been misdiagnosed and really has CH. He reappears at the hospital under a Kip10 CH attack, doctors treat him like they do most CH patients and don't know what's wrong with him. This part could go on for many episodes. Going through an MRI ... no results, putting him on Oxygen, etc.
Attacks keep coming until they somehow determine he has CH. Then the doctors spend much time trying to figure out what CH is and how to treat it. Countless attempts fail, all kinds of CH information is brought up.
Where do we write that we want to see a specific character again?

(A friend of mine who knew I had CH but never saw me under attack was at an ER when a guy came in she thought was either "high" or "insane" as he flailed about the waiting room. He smashed his head against the Coke machine and pushed it across the floor with his head. As security and doctors finally paid attention, he yelled out he had Cluster Headaches! This friend now understands somewhat and doesn't want to be around when I get hit that hard)  ;) :P
Some type of views of a CHer getting attacks and reactions would turn some heads!

WE WANT THIS CHARACTER BACK!

Good job Buckeye!
Dave

Once again - good job Buckeye.  Must have hurt like a K5 to have to say that 'M' word.  Oh well, what some people will do for money! LOL

Great idea Dave, and if it were pointed out how long many of us go undiagnosed, the producers of the show would realize just how long they could suck money out of their sponsors.  I'm sure they would go for it then, and Buckeye would be permanantly employed.

Keep on breaking a leg,
Ross

Title: Re: Judging Amy and ER
Post by buckeyescooter on Apr 9th, 2004, 1:33am
Couldn't agree more with the Dave E's post....I'm actually trying to figure out a way to get a meeting with someone from "ER" to broach that very topic.
Not to sound too Hollywood, but at the very least Cluster Headaches would make for good, dramatic, television. I could actually see a guy losing his mind in the ER, maybe even getting a little violent, just to get someone to pay attention to him. I mean the last thing a guy wants who's having Kip 10's, one on top of the other, is to be given the brush off. When nothings working, you know as well as I, we can all go a little fuckin crazy.
I don't want to pretend I'm something I'm not.....but I really am trying to figure out a way to pitch this story idea to them. I have friends that are writers on other TV shows and I've started to reach out to them. I've been waiting til my pred taper ends, (which was today by the way), to really put my feelers out. Pred can make me a little manic, and I want to have my mind 100% if the opportunity presents itself.....can't promise anything but I'm going to give it my all. I just hope they bite.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm pausing "ER" on my Tivo. I haven't even seen it yet.
ps....sorry i used the "M" word....you know where my loyalties lie. 8)

Dave

Hey now!!!  [smiley=wow.gif]
They find him outside the hospital writhing in despair on the sidewalk and bring him in.  Maura Tierney thinks he's acting to get vicadon, until they see his face.  Then something is REALLY wrong with this guy.

Real drama,

Kevin M

Awesome job, Scott.  Totally cool, wish the writers would have gone a little further with it........ oh well, Maybe we will see a return.  That would be sooooooooo cool.  You are officially my favorite celebrity now.  ;;D  Keep up the good work.  Lookin' forward to seeing your next show. 8)

Great part.  Enjoyed watching you do your thing on both Amy and ER.

I think ER needs to investigate a full time position for you.  With whats his name now heading for Iran they could easily fit you in.

Damn man -- you got to work with Abby.  As DJ said, she's hot!

Looking forward to the next show you're on.

Really, can someone find out if we can e-mail the show and get buckeye on for several more stints at least? And maybe they will incorporate CH.

I knew one of us would end up on ER.!!!!!!!
Hey Scott.
I was totally FLOORED when I saw the real story of your character unfold. WIERD!!!!!!!! A clusterhead playing a guy trying to score imitrex......WIERD

As for your acting...I thought you were superb. I totally believed your character...you were very understated and in control of your performance. I have seen so many people get the small parts and overact. You were  excellent. You are a true actor.
I am still gob smacked about the subject matter.

I just hope for your sake that you are not here on this board drug seeking.  [smiley=laugh.gif]
Totally in awe

Ya know, I've always like Maura Tierney.  I always thought she was your everyday average woman, but a cool lady and yes attractive.  What I cannot believe though, is how NUTS guys are about her!!  I mean, what's up with that?  Not that she doesn't deserve the attention, because she does, but I just don't get it....  I always thought women on TV like Pamela Anderson and Carmen Electra, and others like them, were the only ones guys went gaga over.  Either most men arn't like the guys here, or perhaps the times they are a changin.....  Hopefully it's the latter, and more people like Maura are cast, because we average women are just as "hot" as the next Playmate! ;;D  (and HEY, I'm not speaking just for me, I am speaking for ALL MY SISTA'S!!) ;;D

Oh yeah, and Buckeye, your performance was well done.  As usual, I enjoyed all the story lines.  ER is one of my favorite shows.  Like others said, it would serve them well to have you come back at least ONCE to continue the saga.

mel,

When guys watch a tv show, the first thing they pick out is who is the hottest babe and tune in.  As for her being regular, well I remember when WKRP in Cincinatti came out, I liked the other regular looking girl with the glasses and straight hair (don't remember her name) in the office, even though Lonnie was a bombshell.
I tuned in for years to "I Love Lucy" reruns because of Ethyl.  Man was she hot.

;;Deven I'm not buyin' that one.

Nah mel, it goes way back to that old Betty or Veronica issue from the Archie comics.  Blonde, big blue eyed Betty was great, but you just couldn't help noticing Veronica either, that sultry brunette.

Then there was Betty and Wilma.  Betty had the better giggle, but I liked when Wilma got mad.  They both had
great hemlines.

buckeye,

I recorded ER and just watched it. I'd probably say the M word too for enough money! ;) BUT by the rub down the neck and the HARD SNIFF, we clusterheads know what's really up!!

You've had a hard two weeks..shot in the back, courtroom appearance and an ER visit! Nice!  ;;D

On a more serious note, I hope now that you're off the prednisone the beast doesn't come knockin' at your door. I'm sending PF vibes your way.

LOL Kevin!!  Almost everybody here at Penn State went home for Easter weekend, so my friend Diane came over tonight and we went in the hot tub at my apartment complex for the past 2.5 hours!!  Very relaxing!!  At any rate, we were talking about nursing because we're both going into the same program and we're going to be roommates at Jefferson.  She has already completed an undergrad and masters in Industrial Engineering and now she's changing careers!  Even worse than my music to nursing switch!

So we were talking about things we can't deal with.  I said I'm not looking forward to doing all the cleaning people up, dealing with puke, stuff like that!  She has some stuff she definately doesn't want to deal with either!  I also don't want to see bones sticking out of people....YUCK!  Diane is an EMT, though..so she doesn't mind that part of it.  She isn't a big fan of needles, though!  It's gonna be a very interesting year!!

LOL Kevin,

We didn't take any pics tonight.  My website has a couple from down the shore! LOL  BobP just added me to the clusterhead photo page.

Diane said tonight that well we won't have to clean it up because the housekeeping staff does that, but I said...well we have to clean it off of the patients, though!!

I didn't look at her feet like I did Betty and Wilma, but she can take those glasses off anytime and wear some hotpants and tank top midriff.

Sidetrack away my friend...it's a great way to get to know you guys. Thanks for all the positive support....it means a lot.
Had a couple of ha's today....one very minor, the other a liitle worse, but was able to blast with 02. Didn't have to break out the Zomig inhaler. I'm hoping that the cycle is winding down, but if not, gotta keep fighting the good fight. I've been feeling a little discombobulated the last couple of days.....coming off the pred has been trickier than I remember. It's almost like a mini-withdrawal. I asked my doc about that and he said it's not unusual to feel that way for a couple of days after the taper ends.....truth be told, I'm just tired of being the fucking patient.Sorry to vent/whine.....Hope everyone has a Happy Easter. I'll be sure to post when NYPD Blue is going to be on.

I didn't remember to watch the shows. Sorry for that but then I fall asleep watching that newfangled television. I confess to never seeing an entire episode of either but then I usually see this stuff when it gets to cable.

Good luck though and let us know what's next.

pssssssst Buckeye......if anyone asks I told my friends and family 'were friends with ya' (which is true I hope).... I been tellin em all about you bein on TV and yer part on Amy and ER shows........I actually found a topic to impress them !! Man wouldn't a TV movie on ch be one hell of a dramitic intense show......done in black and white and leave an impact like Jonny Got His Gun and Who's Afraid of Virgina Wolf ! Everyone remembers those shows cuz they were totally 'deep' all black and white !!! OK we got actors on here now we need a few screen writers ! Pam the drama queen of her own house

So no openings for me on South Park, how bout auditions for Sponge Bob......I'd like to wringe his............never mind......that show irritates me. Kids attracted to talking inatimate objects can't be healthy ?  [smiley=gocrazy.gif]
