Title: unusual remedies... Post by Reese on Apr 2nd, 2004, 3:49pm Over the years Ive been reading lots about CH. I seen, and tried, so many different methods of pain releif. I feel kinda foolish with the stuff Ive experimented with. The latest I found was eye drops, just plain ole eye drops, and I actually been trying this today [smiley=laugh.gif] .So far, no headache. Tomorrows another day, though. signed, sober for few days now ;;D |

Title: Re: unusual remedies... Post by floridian on Apr 2nd, 2004, 4:27pm Coincidentally, just read about a new 'special' contact lens that helps many people with migraines. They won't say what is special about it until it gets through the next round of tests. http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/metropolitan/2478779 |

Title: Re: unusual remedies... Post by Melissa on Apr 2nd, 2004, 5:06pm Well, I can never discount migraine treatments, because a lot of our drugs are oringinally intended for migraine use. :-/ Hopefully someday, we'll have treatments that were designed originally for Cluster use. Other than that, I'd pay to see echo running naked with a cone shoved up his butt screaming ;;D |

[smiley=referee.gif] 10 yards for unnecessary roughness. Time for a hormone shot! One person says they are experimenting with eye drops and other chimes in about contacts for migraines - not totally unrelated. Especially since, like Melissa said, a lot of the meds we are taking now were originally developed for other problems. A lot of people here are taking Imitrex - developed for Migraines. Migraines are not as bad as clusters, we all know that. I still don't think we should discount someone else's pain, because we were "special" enough to get hit with a more serious malady. Personally, I'd rather not have either. |

Title: Re: unusual remedies... Post by Charlie on Apr 2nd, 2004, 5:53pm Paint yourself blue, build chain link fence shrines and guzzle Windex. I don't care what if it works for you. As you all know, most of my epilepsy drugs are used or have been tried for clusters.....as well as migraines. Imitrex is a migraine drug isn't it? What do you bet that the HMO pricks who have migraines...and there must be many, have no trouble getting full Imitrex coverage? It's time for violence folks......Oh. Don't tell John Ashcroft. LMAO Chuck!! What some people will say.... Just the other day, my dad...after seeing me suffer with all this crap for quite some time now, said to me, "Well why don't you try excedrin?" I yelled at him!! He also gave me the name of some neuro at Penn who cured these ladies migraines by finding an exact spot on their head that could trigger them, injecting that spot, and they have been migraine free ever since. I told him to give me a break.... Even after all this, and for the most part my dad is very supportive, he still suggests excedrin???? Craziness!! Lizzie |

Broke out of the insame asylum by tunneling with a spoon. Came up here. Sorry about the hole in the floor. I do woodworking on the side. I'll fix it good as new. Door... hmph! How I got here?...Hmm, let's see. Referred to the site by a caring co-worker of my wife's. Typed in the url. Took the survey's. Read the available documentation on both this site and OUCH's. Decided that between diagnosis by a doctor and a neurologist and the survey's I belong here. Registered both here and on OUCH. Logged in. Started reading posts. Decided to toss in my 2 cents worth. Is that close enough to how it's done for you or is there some special secret handshake I should know first? Oh, for anyone that couldn't tell "special" was used in a sarcastic manner. Look Maw! Only here a little over a week and already making friends!. |

Title: Re: unusual remedies... Post by BobG on Apr 3rd, 2004, 9:11pm unusual remedies...?????????? I posted a long list once but don't remember when. It's in the archives. Does that help? I could type it again from memory but it'll take 77 hours of nonstop typing and fill 98% of the world wide web and probably crash the host computer at USC but, what the hell........want it? Mark C has a good memory. Maybe he can remember where it is. Hey Mark! |

Title: Re: unusual remedies... Post by Lizzie2 on Apr 4th, 2004, 12:31am LOL Bob, That was on a thread about alternative treatments right?? and acupuncture? I think that post Mark quoted was in response to my question something like, "Do people really try this stuff?" or something to that effect. LOL Lizzie |

Title: Re: unusual remedies... Post by BobG on Apr 4th, 2004, 12:48am Yeah it was about accupuncture. A lady asked for things that had worked for at least one person. So I told her and she got pissed. Everything on that list was copied/pasted directly from the "old" CH.com board and was used successfully by at least one person. Many things on the list are regularly used meds and techniques. |

Title: Re: unusual remedies... Post by Turts on Apr 4th, 2004, 1:46am Ive tried accupunture. The little pins felt quite pleasant going into skin. Then I got a visit from the beast. He danced around the table to did his own accupunture. Nice big fcuken Samurai swords into the eye. After that I gave further accupunture a miss. Alcohol usually brings one on, so next ill try A MADMAN. Simply order a Tequila slammer. (lick, sip, suck) Now do the following. Lick the salt Throw the tequila over your shoulder and squirt the lemon in your eye. I will keep you posted on how effective this is. Turts :o |

Post by jmorgan52 on Apr 5th, 2004, 7:32am I saw something similar recently with a group of young piss artist lads: Snort the salt through a straw (like doing a line of coke) Shoot the Tequila Squeeze lemon in the eye all this to impress a few girls - who remained very unimpressed! |
