Title: Cluster-Crazy Poetry Post by Jeepgun on Mar 31st, 2004, 2:40pm Written during a cluster. And no, I have no farging idea what it means. Insane with pain, and this is what comes of it... :-/ Without further ado: The Killing Of The Toad Gentle flies on the edges of everything soften all the jagged corners. Stark sunlight lances my eyeballs shooting icepick headaches of pinwheel colors screaming, "I HAVE SEEN HIM! HE IS AMONG US NOW! THE END IS NEAR! REPENT!" I have seen the Toad of Darkness writhing glistening and black in my throat after studying my open mouth in the mirror with my new eyes. Blue eyes. Blue flies... My hands disappeared for a long time, meltfading bones crumbling to ashes. But they are back; different somehow... Cunning disease that has learned to chameleon itself as flesh... Headache headache headache... Maybe just one more aspirin or five or losing count how many empty bottle bought just this morning sleepy sleepy sleepy sleep comes difficult for the toad wriggles with knowing that the abode of the toad grows cold as my eyes fold like origami cranes and pain fades fade fading....to black Black cranes swooping down to take me take me take me to the end of the obsidian ribbon highway that stretches to the horizon flatline flatline flatline flatline... -Frank H. Title: Re: Cluster-Crazy Poetry Post by Jeepgun on Mar 31st, 2004, 2:47pm Cluster's End: This poem actually has a different working title, but when I read it, I realized that it describes the exact feeling of awakening with an excrutiating cluster, and then the cluster subsiding, and being able to turn the pillow over to find the cool spot, and drifting to sleep again... Without further ado: Emerging seventeen miles high miles high... miles high... into pristine azure silence that prickles my skin with the icy splinters of lucidity. lucidity... lucidity... Deafening absence of sound of sound of sound... and I'm creeping upside down on the arcing reaching stretching dome of the sky, and like an insect, I kick a hole in a pane and through the shattered and falling pieces, my hand releases my clutching desperate grip on the very edge. edge edge... And sleepdrift-swimming into the eternal chasm of space smiling in drowsy farewell, my eyes close, and I dive -- a silvery shimmer of flashing scales -- into leagues of cobalt repose. -Frank H. Title: Re: Cluster-Crazy Poetry Post by Superpain on Mar 31st, 2004, 2:58pm How the hell did you write anything during a cluster? Pretty cool. i sit there and think up poetry too, during ha's, but I always forget it because I can't write it down... |

Title: Re: Cluster-Crazy Poetry Post by Jeepgun on Mar 31st, 2004, 3:24pm Heh... Most of the time, the writing comes out as a horrible scribble, as if it were written by a dyslexic 5-year old that has drunk a gallon of espresso, but nevertheless... ;;D Often, I'm able to re-visit the agony of the headaches even when I'm not having one. The second poem was written during a pain free time, but the first one was practically carved into a pad of paper because I had pressed so hard on the pen... Ugh... :P |
