Title: Fate has a nasty sense of humor... Post by Tiannia on Mar 26th, 2004, 11:52pm I never thought that when I agreed with Jayne that I would gladly take a hit for Zazi, that Fate would take me so literally. My Saturn is completly totaled :( I had a un-insured mexican driver t-bone me on the freeway today. I walked away bumped and brused up. Hit my head really hard. (one the side the beast attcks, like i need anyother reason for that side of my head to hurt. ::)) Need to go to urgent care and have them do xrays and such. Hubby thinks I have whiplash. The body shop said that my center post on the drivers side frame was pushed in 9 inches. He pretty much took out the whole drivers side of my car. The inside of the door was completly pushed into the driver side seat. The tow truck driver was very amazed that I was able to walk away form it. Course I had to climb over to the passanger side to get out. Highway patrol said that it was good we where pretty much traveling the same direction, shame we did not stay in seperate lanes. :-/ I'll let you all know how it goes. My work is letting me barrow a truck until the insurance either fixes my car, which is unlikely or total it and we have to get a new one. I hope that you all have some PF times. Just wanted to let the family know, about my fun filled day of excitement. :o PF Wishes, -Tia |

No shit, Sherlock!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dont even go there about women drivers, my record is 100% better then my husband, but anyone who lives in Vegas or even visited knows these freeways are fucking insane. On a serious note, I am very grateful that my kids where not with me. Also, that no one in either vehichle was seriously injured. His van was towed away, Shaun came and drove my car while I followed him in his truck to the body shop the insurance told us to go to. Once we got it there, they said that they could not allow us to leave with it was if was completly unsafe to drive because of the bent frame. I am very thankful for the powers that be, who watched over me today and allowed me to be with my husband and children tonight. Do yourself a favor and always tell them you love them. When I got pregnant with my sone, my husband insisted we get a saturn because of the side roll cage supports. Cootie - I could not agree more. A$$hole had expired tags, no license etc... Thought the hiway patrol was going to kill him. Actually glad he was gone before Shaun showed, cause I think he owuld have cleaned hit clock. |

Title: Re: Fate has a nasty sense of humor... Post by Kevin_M on Mar 27th, 2004, 1:36am Tianna, Take it easy, you may be very sore tomorrow. Adrenelin flows to rise to the situation, but tomorrow... I drive a new Saturn and thankfully they ARE safe cars. So happy for you that you are able to write about this tonight. :-* :-* Kissing boo boos. Thankful for you being here with us, tonight and hoping always. Cootie, I moved to Houston back in the early 80's and found the four-ways without stop signs require a certain order of proceeding. They were locally called Mexican standoffs. Yes, they do require a driver's knowledge and courtesy. Sorry about what happened to your friend. Tianna, wish they did a breathalizer on the guy. Sorry to hear about all this. Glad work is helping out with transportation for you. Take care and hope all x-rays and stuff come up negative. I hit something at 45mph which was not moving. My head punched a hole through my windshield and then came back through. I bit right through my tounge and had to have a piece snipped off. Heals fast. My neck had a twinge and shooting nerve pain for a couple years but went away. If there is neck pain, it may take time but take all precautions. Glad you're safe and many, many healing vibes for you. Oh, and don't you worry about the money & such for your vechicle, at least you're still alive. You could always be like us backward country folk, and hope to total your vehicle out on a deer. (without injury and kids in vechicle of course) We've repaired our vehicles so many times from deer damage, that we could have bought 2 more cars. ::) Oh well, I think it's human nature anyway to AVOID an accident. TPTB sure do need you here, and for that I'm happy! :)mel |

No I have to wait 7 days and then call the Highway Patrol to get a copy of the complete report. Hopefully I'll know by Tuesday or so what they are going to do about my car. Talked to the claims department on my insurance. At least I have good coverage a $100 deductable is all I pay and it is coverege under collision and uninsured motorist. Plus when we bought the Saterun we got the gap coverage so that if we are upside down (which I dont think we are) we will still be fine, if they total it. I just cant stop hugging my kids today. Title: Re: Fate has a nasty sense of humor... Post by cootie on Mar 27th, 2004, 1:17pm My mom was drivein me to the bus stop when I was in 11th grade (it was pouring down rain) and we had a bad spot to pull out of that was on a slight hump with shrubs to your right. Mom pulled out very slowly and we got t-boned by this speed racer jerk that used to race thru all 4 flashing red stop signs on that street and he was probly goin over 55 mph as usual. Mom didn's see him cuz he was down in the dip....normally if he'd been goin the normal speed he'd of never hit us. Mom got sighted.....judge said it made no difference how fast that jerk was goin even if he was drivein backwards.....cuz my mom failed to yeild !!! Even had witnesses the guy never even touched his breaks and hit us full speed..he thru us a long long ways till we fineally came to a stop !! He used to have his car stuff ripped off so he could get new tires and stereo stuff. His dad is an insurence agent and he knows the ropes way too well and got away with it. I ended up with whip lash so bad I could not move from the neck down and spine was basically felt like a solid steel rod for over 3 months. Mom wouldn't let me go to the doc cuz she was afraid people would think we were goin to cry 'WHIP LASH' which was goin around back then. I was underaged to go to the hospital myself and was in AGONY. Luckily my dyke gym teacher let me out of gym class without an excuse. I sumtimes wonder if this whip lash has anything to do with serious back problems now or "added to it" I mean. So.....moral to this story is......if you think you have whiplash get it checked out and be really careful. I hope they deport the mexican dude.....to Iraq. Pam with long winded but true stories |

Title: Re: Fate has a nasty sense of humor... Post by cootie on Mar 27th, 2004, 4:06pm My dyke gym teacher was not cool.....she would MAKE the girls strip totally naked in front of her dropping your towel.......then walk past her and step into the shower doorway to the showers which were several feet from that point and ALL stand around totally naked with NO TOWELS and NO PARTITIONS.......showering as she stood there watching. If you wouldn't do it or had a problem with it.......you got an F for the day no matter how you did in gym that day doin whatever. I hated gym class and there are some people you jus DON'T wanna see naked.....and alot of the girls got made fun of later cuz of it.....More true stories by Pammie |

Title: Re: Fate has a nasty sense of humor... Post by Karla on Mar 27th, 2004, 7:21pm If the frame is bent at all the car will be totaled. that is what happened to us this year and it was the trunk that was bent from being rear ended. I am so thankful to God that you are alright. Please see a dr about your neck even if you are feeling ok right now. It is so important. FYI Chiropractors can do wonderful miricles for wiplash. I once had a sergon tell me I needed neck surgery and I went to a chiropractor instead. What relief the dr and surgeon couldn't give me in a year I got emediate relief from the chiropractor. Keep that in mind please. That was all over whiplash to. |

Title: Re: Fate has a nasty sense of humor... Post by Tiannia on Mar 27th, 2004, 10:22pm Sorry Luke. Shaun and I really dont gamble. Most people who live here know that those big flashy casinos where not built by people winning. So really cant help you as far as that goes. I do know that a lot of locals like Green Valley Ranch. And that is fairly close to where we live. Karla, The body shop pretty much told Shaun that it would be totaled. Especially because we have State Farm Insurance and they only allow for the cost to be 65% of the value and they will total it. He is guessing that before they even start taking it apart. I will call the doctor forst thing Monday and get into be seen. I seem to hurt more as time goes on. And I really cant turn my neck much at all. Not really sure why my knee hurts, guess I'll ask him to look at it to. Kind of hear a grinding sound when it bends. :-/ Thank you all for the support it is nice to hear and makes me smile. Thankfully the beast has been kind and only hit me lightly today. Only bad one I had was my typical 3am wake up call. So it could all be worse. PF Wishes my friends. -Tia |

Title: Re: Fate has a nasty sense of humor... Post by Kevin_M on Mar 27th, 2004, 10:44pm Tia, I knew the aches and pains were sure to come later. Yes, you will feel that, and in places you don't remember getting hit either. You probably hit your knee and never knew it. I had many pain sources come up days later. And the neck. Yes, see a doc. That will take time to go away. Things have been thrown violently in abnormal directions very quickly. Sometimes the muscles in the neck have been wrenched. Hope there is no vertebrae repercussions. Nerves were strained and pinched. Things will settle back to normal in time, but the neck muscles as well as other muscles were jarred so quickly and extensively there is no doubt of that kind of pain. Tearing of them can occur too. That painfully heals after a sore while. Best to you, see the doc about the neck, x-rays and all, and I hope the best. Glad you're, well, relatively ok. And yes, I didn't think about the fact you might have had children in the car. There's a fortunate plus. Hate to think... You may know what it feels like to be old for the next few days. Aching sore. Please sleep very well, good for restoring things. The car? Unfortunate news. Hope you can work things out. Best to you. Kevin M |

Fate. Saturn. erm .... nevermind. Dopeymax does funny things to small minds. Then when I read the rest of your post, I was in between outrage and tears! :'( Fate IS a bitch. Post by toader on Mar 29th, 2004, 1:54pm Actually birthcharts are fun and (according to my wife) surprisingly accurate :) Just teasing about the horoscopes! You go girl! The way I see it, it's the year of the Monkey and I'm a Monkey so that means something ... not sure what yet, but it does mean something. About the Dopeymax <sigh> ... tried to go off and the night attacks returned so .... as the song goes .... Title: Re: Fate has a nasty sense of humor... Post by Tiannia on Mar 29th, 2004, 2:11pm I'm sorry about the night attacks. Is there anything else that can help? I know the Gabatril (sp?) has at least taken the edge off some of my harder HA. And it is a seizure med as well. The lady that I learned how to do birthcharts from explained it this way. The reason that everyone usually looks at thier Sun Sign (ie Virgo) as says "Well these are never acurate) is very right. Your birthchart is like a portrait. The sun sign is only the back ground color. It is the rest of the planets have give you the detail that makes up who you are. I always felt that it was a wonderful explaination of a birthchart. I did one for each of my kids and as my daughter gets older, I see more of the details coming to fruition. hehe I'm looking forward to doing a birthchart. Have not done one in a while. :) -Tia |

Car accidents are really frightening and sometimes it takes a few days for it to hit you (physically and emotionally). I was in a head-on collision when we lived in Fallon, NV and I went into premature labor (they were able to stop it with drugs, luckily) the next day even though I thought I was fine.
