Title: Wingate Weekly Post by Mr.Happy on Mar 26th, 2004, 12:32pm Here are the weekly questions from Wingate: In looking at your disease state of cluster headaches, are you satisfied with the label that has been put on the condition? Do you feel that people really understand the condition? Finally got to unload both barrels, and tell it like it is: The label "Cluster Headaches" is fine, and people immediately understand the condition. Heh, RJ |

Title: Re: Wingate Weekly Post by thomas on Mar 26th, 2004, 12:46pm I am extremely disappointed with the name of our condition, and there is no way in hell that the general public understands the nature of our plight. |

Title: Re: Wingate Weekly Post by NYRenee on Mar 26th, 2004, 2:09pm I'm a supporter of a cluster sufferer, but it's aggravating for me all the same. I've heard several times from someone when I've tried to explain what clusters are and I get "cluster headaches? Oh I get those." I'm like suurrreee you do... they only here headaches not clusters, ..or I've heard "are you sure your boyfriend doesn't have allergies"...I'm like allergies?, oh Dude, maybe ya got something there ?...but I can't imagine people with allergies going to the ER for shots of Demerol ! But by God, if allergy sufferers were in the amount of pain you all are...I'm sure they would've found a cure by now. |

Title: Re: Wingate Weekly Post by Miklos on Mar 26th, 2004, 2:17pm The weekly questions I received today are different. As I recall, I got Mr. Happy's questions a couple of weeks ago albeit phrased slightly differently. My student did tell me that Mr. Happy is getting quite the "rep" among the graduate students for the content of his "enlightening" answers. Why does that not surprise me? She said that she is so grateful that I am such a gentle and refined person. |

Title: Re: Wingate Weekly Post by cootie on Mar 26th, 2004, 2:25pm NYRenee....I am also a supporter and tired of TRYING to explain in no uncertain terms. Found out a freind we see at a few far away weekend events thru summer works in the neuro dept of a hospital and reads the exrays.....I thought to myself.....WOW......so next time I got to see him I asked him if he knew anything about CH and he said OH YEAH.......I was suprised with glee to find someone that knew something....until he told me he used to have CH until he got his devorse and started laughing. Arghhhhhhhh.......I felt like smackin him but reframed Pam |

==================================== Date: Thu, 2 Oct 2003 Hello from the Wingate University School of Pharmacy! Dr. Supernaw and I wanted to update you on the electronic patient program we had previously discussed. Our class will begin during the first few weeks of January 2004. One doctoral pharmacy student will be assigned to you. As stated before, the goal of this course is to help students learn the human side of medicine, provide students with an opportunity to communicate with patients, and provide you the opportunity to ask medication questions. In terms of the general course structure, your student will be emailing you once a week over the course of one semester. You are only asked to provide as much information to the student that you are comfortable with. Specific information you provide will only be accessible to your student and the two instructors (Supernaw and Dolder). At the conclusion of the class, you are welcome and encouraged to continue your relationship with your doctoral student. We are excited to start this program in January and are grateful for your decision to participate. If for any reason you have decided not to participate, please email me. We will provide another class update in the near future. Sincerely, Christian Dolder, PharmD, BCPS Assistant Professor Wingate University School of Pharmacy ==================================== Maybe they'll do it again next year. Who knows? RJ |
