Sitting here at 8:40 AM, waiting for the neuro's office to open and hurting like hell. But it's not CH, I fixed that fucker 3 weeks ago. My prob now is peripheral neuropathy, a nerve disorder that affects the extremities, mostly hands and feet, painful but nothing compaired to CH. Oh yeah, how did I fix the beast? I started drinking booze again. It aggravates the shit out of the neuropathy but the pain of CH far surpasses the pain I get in my hands and feet. I will not go back to a CH every hour during sleep and O2 not doing all that great. I hope the hell this new neuro has a clue 'cause I'm reaching the end of my rope. No, not that rope. But any input will be appreciated and thanks in advance.

I'm hoping that the neuro can do something for your pain. Nerve pain is so difficult to treat and so very debilitating. I don't have any input or words of wisdom, but ALL of my thoughts/vibes are coming your way wishing that you are pain free very soon

Thanks loads. Called the neuro's office, told them I had CH, and the gal wanted to know if I needed to come in today. Good sign? Sure hope so but I deferred 'til April. It should be interesting tho. I'm hoping this guy knows more about CH than we do. It would be nice if he knew something about neuropathy too. But I/we can sure as hell educate the uninitiated on CH, can't we.

Sorry for all your pain kip......but don't neuro's know how to treat neuropathy.....I mean......wouldn't the visit today of helped figure out sumething effective for that ? I'm not totally familiar with it so whada I know but would hope there's something that'd work out there. Anti-pain Pam

Took me a while to reply. I didn't know what peripheral neuropathy was so I didn't want to reply without having some idea what you are suffering from or the words would feel a bit empty.

Looked it up on the neuropathy trust page. I had no idea there were so many people who suffer from this.
How dreadful to have this in addition to CH.
Also yet another thing that has a multitude of causes and is hard to treat.
I really am sorry, and send you as many Big Brit vibes as I can that you get some relief soon.

Mind sharig a little background? Many causes of this malady and I am hoping that you can help narrow the field a bit.

I have a couple of family members going thru similar situations and hope I can shed some light on it for you.

Dont know if this helps...but my oldest brother is going through chemotherapy right now..and he has the neuropathy as well...supersensitivity...especially to cold..and he was given nuerontin....took about a week to work..but he's said the sensitivity has been greatly reduced......Good luck and VIBES!!! Hi Bob,

years ago, when no MD could help my old father's extremely painful diabetic polyneuropathy I performed a research of the medical literature and after that gave him quinine (a known malaria drug) at a dosage of only 100 mg at night that resolved the problem immediately (he only had the pain during the night).

May be you would need more than 100 mg, and not only at night. Also carbamazepine and clonidine may be helpful.
