Jonny's the only famous person we have here and he's KING! Other than that we're just disfunctional family members.

We're looking for someone famous to be our spokesman so if you find anyone, let everyone know...

I am not sure about this, but could Virgina Woolf be a clusterhead? I just bought The Hours DVD which included historians talking about her and they mentioned that she had "severe headaches, not the kinds that we have". Could they means CHs...?

best wishes,
sandie99

Franz Kafka.  Lots of speculation on Kafka's headache - this 'new' article is the latest.

Did Franz Kafka suffer from cluster headache?

Title: Virginia Woolf?? Afraid not -
Post by floridian on Mar 24th, 2004, 9:05am
On Virginia Woolf's headaches:

Quote:
They had a migrainous quality. She describes seeing rays of flashing light, and having to lie in a darkened room, and they often followed stress and being much in company. They were accompanied at times by palpitations, but not linked with menstruation. A few scattered letter and diary entries from hundreds relating to headache will illustrate their variety:

L4 1 7 30 ..I must have misled you about this particular headache. There are 3 stages: pain, numb, visionary.'

31 12 30 'incessant headaches' L 7 2 29 '...all the usual symptoms - pain, and heart jumpy, and my back achy, and so on. What I call a first class headache.'

The headaches occur throughout these years but are more frequent in the early nineteen thirties, perhaps in relation to the menopause. In the diary of 28 5 31: 'Soon after this I started a headache - flashes of light raying round my eyes and sharp pain.......And then to Rodmell where the same thing happened - the light round my eyes, but as I could lie still in bed in my big airy room, the pain was much less. If it were not for the divine goodness of L how many times I should be thinking of death; always knocked over as I am; but now the recoveries are full of infinite relief.

25 2 36: 'Then I've had headaches. Vanquish them by lying still and binding books and reading D Copperfield.'

thx floridian, doesn't sound like Virginia Wolf had clusters.  Seemed that lying still helped them for her.  I do not know of one single ch'er that can lie still... Also, the flashes of light (auras?) seem more like migraine.  I know I don't get them, not sure about other ch'ers....

Melissa,

I get aura without migraine, and the aura is not associated with my clusters.  Others have both clusters and migraine, though I am not sure if it is combined, or totally separate.

Civil War General Tipton, later of the Presidio I think, is thought to have killed himself because of headaches. Still no hard proof.  :-/. There was a story about someone in the Royal Family but it didn't seem to pan out.  We need a Rock Hudson type.

Jefferson had horrible headaches that may not have been migraines. No proof though.

Edgar Allen Poe, but he won't speak up for us.  Also, Abe Lincoln had terrible headaches that were not thought to be migraines.  CH wasn't known of then.
