Title: Da*m F*ckin Doctors, F*ck'em Post by Gena on Mar 8th, 2004, 10:17am Had to go to the Emergency room last night, Dx - Kiddney stones :o. I like being in cycle is not enough ::) Once agine I was asked to rate my pain, and so started the conversation that we have all had so many times. That I can't have clusters its a mans Disease, and woman do not get it. And if by chance I did have clusters, all anyone that has them has to do is stop somking and they will go away. I stated to argue with him, but I was in pain and did not want to completely piss him off. So I told him that I am sure my nurolgist knows more about CH then he does and I will leave that up to her! He was sooooo pissing me off... He just keep talking and talking and ...... about CH when he was so Ignorant on the subject...... I finally got so pissed of I told him look thats not why I am here, thank god... I now that I know you do not know what the hell your talking about I will never come here for that. OK I am done ranting now Gena |

Title: Re: Da*m F*ckin Doctors, F*ck'em Post by Miklos on Mar 8th, 2004, 5:03pm I just got back from six hours in the ER here in Plano. I have a fractured back rib, fifth one down (or up) whatever that means. But, of course, I had to do all the rule outs: heart attack; collapsed lung; blood clot, etc. Fractured ribs were last on the list. When asked about my medical history, I told the doctor about my CH. His response was, "Oh, I know about CH. That, I could help you with. " When I asked him what he would do if I had come for CH, he listed all the intial fixes we love to hear them say: O2; imitrex; etc. He was knowlegeable about my Calan SR and Eskalith preventative regimen. So, there are a few of the good ones out there. Of course, since I am male, he had no reason to disbelieve me. Rant away, Gena. |

I think this is their actual title. They changed it to MD to try and fake us out. |

Title: Re: Da*m F*ckin Doctors, F*ck'em Post by Tiannia on Mar 8th, 2004, 5:30pm My Grandfather said he never trusted Doctors because they were only given a license to "Practise" Medicine. He wanted a Doctor that was done Practising and could actually do it. ;;D This is the same man that told a police office that he was not speeding because more cars passed him then he passed, so he was actually further back then he started. |

Title: Re: Da*m F*ckin Doctors, F*ck'em Post by bobkip on Mar 8th, 2004, 8:13pm Don't know which is worse, the clueless one that get the "deer in the headlights" look when you mention ch or the smartassed one that think they know all the answers and brush off any input a mere patient has. I've dealt with both and have found the "dith" types to be eduucateable, the smartass types hopeless. Kip |

Title: Re: Da*m F*ckin Doctors, F*ck'em Post by sandie99 on Mar 10th, 2004, 4:26am Hi there, Gena! :) I have met an idiot like that, too! I was lucky to have met a good neuro (= on who believed that women do have ch, too) first, so I was able to tell a thing and two to the second one. But, as you know, the docs are not that good in listening what the poor patient is trying to tell THEM, especially, when the patient knows about her illness more than the neuro she's talking to! I mean I come on, the second neuro had no idea that a ch patient can have a teary eye and many of the other common symptoms we are painfully aware of, but still he has the guts to tell me that I don't have ch... When do the docs learn to listen? Isn't that supposed to be one of the main things they need...? Best wishes & loads of PF days, sandie99 p.s. I'm seeing my neuro again in March 25... |

Title: Re: Da*m F*ckin Doctors, F*ck'em Post by hdbngr on Mar 10th, 2004, 9:30am I'm feeling evil... I would have kindly reminded him that kidney stones are also stated as suffered mostly by men. 4 out of every five "stoners" are male. And yet, women also get them too, and gender doesn't make them any less painful just because you are in the minority. I would have then taken the passed stone and offered to let him experience the sensation of passing one backward....After he quit hollering, I would note that a CH attack is worse, then ask him to clarify his recommended treatment for CH once more. BEt he would offer to do some more research.... |
