Title: Re: My Recital 11/2/02 online!! Post by Lizzie2 on Mar 5th, 2004, 12:32am thanks broomie and fubar :) fu, i do think the school of music has a diskclavier! i'll have to check into it. they take a special kind of floppy disk thing right?? i can't play the songs from that recital anymore, but i'm working on new pieces for my april senior recital, so i can play some of that!! :) Lizzie :) |

Title: Re: My Recital 11/2/02 online!! Post by fubar on Mar 5th, 2004, 12:51am Lizzie, If they do have one, recording is really simple. Most of the newer ones will use any normal 3 1/2 floppy, but some of the old ones require a low-density format (720mb). I can send you a bunch of floppies to record on if you need them, but they should be available just about anywhere. Recording is simply a matter of putting the piano in record mode and playing what you want recorded. When you're done, you can even just email me the file that is created on the floppy and I can just put it in my piano. It will reproduce your performance exactly with every nuance. Wow, I can't wait. Your playing is very nice indeed. It will do my piano some good! -Fu |

Title: Re: My Recital 11/2/02 online!! Post by Lizzie2 on Mar 5th, 2004, 1:33am Wow! That's great! Thank you Fu! I do believe our piano takes the older type of disks. But I think our bookstore has some. I'll have to check it out! I'm leaving for spring break tomorrow for a week, but I will look into it when I get back! You'll have a nice preview of my April recital!! :) And it should be better by the time I get back from break, because I will be doing LOTS of practicing while I'm home! Take care! Lizzie :) |

Title: Re: My Recital 11/2/02 online!! Post by Lizzie2 on Mar 5th, 2004, 8:27am Sorry KOP...I'll clarify :) It takes sometimes up to a year or more to really prepare pieces for a recital. And then if you don't keep on playing them, they usually fade into the distance! I would have to relearn them in order to play them on the diskclavier. However, I am working on pieces for my senior recital this coming April, so those I CAN play! Lizzie :) |

Title: Re: My Recital 11/2/02 online!! Post by KingOfPain on Mar 5th, 2004, 8:32am Oh, okay...I was just wondering. I always respect a talent, wish I had one. :) Keep up the good work Lady! |

Title: Re: My Recital 11/2/02 online!! Post by Lizzie2 on Mar 5th, 2004, 8:51am Thanks KOP! :) I truly believe every person is talented at something! I certainly have a love hate relationship with music and the piano, but it's been my life for the last 17 years! I don't think I will stop playing once I start nursing school this summer. In fact, my graduation present *might* be a Yamaha Clavinova or keyboard so that I have something to play in my new apartment! Lizzie :) |

Title: Re: My Recital 11/2/02 online!! Post by bobkip on Mar 5th, 2004, 7:06pm Slow connection??? Naw, what's slower than slow? Yep, it is dialup but I'm old and slow too. Tried it again at 5 pm, at 7 pm it wasn't half way ther, showed 2 hrs 50 mins left. SIGH!!! Guess if I want to hear you I'll just have to do it in person. Kip |

Title: Her Recital.... Post by Mr.Happy on Mar 5th, 2004, 7:55pm Kipster, Forget it with dialup. 76 megs, not trombones. You'll die of old gauge first. Liz.... Track 7 certainly made me feel like Hi Jinx and Shrooms. Track 12 was reminiscent of 20 cups of coffee and some meth. Beauty. Keyed up, RJ |

Title: Re: My Recital 11/2/02 online!! Post by Lizzie2 on Mar 5th, 2004, 11:46pm LMAO Hap!!! Tracks 7-9 are a 2 piano duet called Scaramouche by Darius Milhaud. I played it with one of my roommates from last year. Hap, wait till you meet me!! Imagine how hyper you have to be to PLAY that music!! hahaha ;) My one piano major roommate and I once thought it would be funny to have a sign posting all of our thoughts while we are in performance. It would be something like..."Ohhhhhhh craaaaaaaap! Too fast!! Don't screw this part up moron!" and a host of other very interesting thoughts! Piano is just the bestest! :) Lizzie :) |
