Hi guys!
Very excited! We went to the new Doc today! WHAT A GUY!!!! KNEW HIS STUFF BOY! Gave hubby Verapimil. Took him off Indomethacin, said that it's not effective in treating CH at all! Wants to see him back in 2 months too, to see how his BP is doing with the meds!

We are both very excited and happy! This guy seems to know what he's talking about. For the first time since the CH's came back, this is the FIRST Dr. that we didn't have to fight with to get the right diagnosis!

HI Mel!

I know! I've only been dealing with Ken and this CH for a few months, but I'm sure all of you know it seems like a lifetime of fighting with Doc's from giving the wrong diagnosis down to the Insurance Companies.

I'll tell you one thing, this doc is NOT afraid to write a Letter Of Medical Necessity!

Oh, and thanks to Bob_P for giving me that information. I am greatful.

Gee, I don't know. This doc cares though. It's rare that you find a doc who is true to the Dr's oath!

Hey "Helpless",

Good for you and even better for Ken. Hope the verap works well. Make sure to keep uping the dose until, as Doc Goadsby says, the headaches stop or side effects make him stop taking more. Doc Robinson, in Vancouver, said he had people as high as 1080mg/day of the verap.

Thats great news, Toni.....finding the right doc is one in a million.

I got lucky too, My insurance changed back to where the Neuro that diagnosed me is, he gave me anything I wanted to try, was my age, had a harley and a vette....plus he didnt like his wife much.......We had lots in common, visits would last 40 mins just shooting the shit......ROTFFLMMFAO ;;D

When it comes to docs all is right in this dudes world ;;D

Is it just me...(probably) or are more people finding good doctors that know their stuff? AND is it a result of US and OUCH that it is happening?.... [smiley=huh.gif]

The good doc theme seems to be spreading :)

Yeah!

Ken is on 480 a day. First doses are a bit weird, and different pills, but only for the first 6 days. I'll keep you posted. I know the Indomethacin has been giving him wicked shadows - but no CH's full blown. I don't know if that's good or bad. According to him, the shadows are annoying. But doc said that Indo is NOT the proper medication to treat CH. Right then and there I knew he knew his shit!

Again, what a relief!!!!
I don't know what's working here - but as long as there are at least some Doc's with the knowledge of clusters like the guy I found - then there is always hope.
