Hi Gang!
Too obvious that I haven’t been posting over here for a while. I spend my pain free time over at OUCH with so much going on. But, Annette checks these boards for me everyday and keeps me up to date with all that is going on. So, I’m still thinking of all of you all the time. So many E-mails to respond to, I think I’m going to try one a day and see if I can catch up.
So … I’m not dead! Am sure that is because of all the prayers, support and vibes coming from all of you. (Thank you!)
Although Chronic, there is no doubt there are still cycles that hit harder for periods, just as when I was episodic. Going through that now, and as in the past this should last through March. Then it should be back to “only” 4 or 5 attacks per day. As far as this other mysterious disorder that almost took my life a while back, the immediate danger seems to have passed. I’m out of the wheelchair and walking without aid these days. Can’t function physically as well as I would have hoped by now, but am working on it. Am seeing a Chiropractor to see if I can get back some strength, (I fall over a lot when I try to bend over to do anything :-/). But, most likely I’m going to have to resort to some sort of rehab through Medicare if possible. Might mean changing my career, but am running out of choices.
Know one career I want to stay away from … house keeping! Annette has found us some income taking care of my 97 year old grandmother, so now I’m the ~~housewife~~, uh … House Maintenance Engineer 8)
Don’t like this job, it never ends! I want to go back to work, see the job, plan it, complete it and be done with it, and go on to the next job. This house work stuff doesn’t work like that! Finish laundry … there’s more! Finish dishes … there’s more! Vacuum the carpet … people walk on it! The nerve! >:( LOL! My hat’s off to all those who do this day in and out, especially those who work another job at the same time. When I do recover, I’m going to slip and hit my head, just enough to forget how to do all these things. Stupid of me to show I could pick up after myself and such, learn well from this guys! Once they know we can operate a dishwasher or vacuum … it’s all over! Learn from my mistakes … that glass on the table is as far as we know where we can put it! Laundry on the floor is for comfort for our feet, it’ll disappear eventually and end up in our closets while we walk on the new stuff on the floor! Vacuums may tear up throw rugs or suck the bird into them! Yep, just need a slight head injury so I can remember these things.
Miss coming over here and talking with you all, but get rare opportunities like right now where I can at least find some humor and just shadow my way through a post.
So anyway, the battle continues with the Beast and the lingering affects of that weird “disorder?” that hit so hard. Never did find out what it was (or maybe still is). Doctors just gave up as the seizures lessened and concluded it must have been some type of bacterial or viral infection. Too much Prednisone is my thought as to why I still have these other problems hanging on.
But, again, thanks to all your support, maybe by convention time I can do a little end zone touchdown dance ::)
Of course I have to add this … come on over to OUCH as much as possible. A lot of membership involvement going on and great strides being made … come on, just stop by and take a look and say hello.

I'm just glad to see that you are recovering.....I wuz worried.

I am so glad that you posted. It's good to hear from you.
I'm glad that things are at least improving with the strange "disorder".
I will continue to keep you in my prayers for a full recovery.

I HATE housework, but it's something that just keeps coming up to do. Grin and bear it.....

Since I have started taking melatonine I have shorter bad periods. Latly I am having severe pain in my neck drooping eye and runny nose without the severe pain in the eye just a feeling that it is badly brused but when I do get a severe attack and I use Imigran also the neck pain disapeers :o wonder why.

Good to hear from you and thanks for everything you and Annette are doing for OUCH.

You certainly know how to endear yourself to those of us who do housework :D. I love you for it! It is the most boring, soul destroying (for the reasons you give about having to bloody do it all over again next day) drudgery in the world. Add in a 4 year old, a dog, 4 cats and a messy partner and you have to do it again 2 HOURS later!

You are so right that a job that you complete, and it stays completed is SO much more satisfying.
In the good old days, I did a job like that and paid someone else to clean and iron SIGH :'(
Now I deal with it by putting on Van Halen or Zep or Queen greatest hits very, very loud and attack it and prance about. Sad, sad to watch!

Sorrrrrrrrry, read this when I had just cleaned the house.
