Title: Windows Update...again
Post by Mark C on Feb 10th, 2004, 7:38pm
"Microsoft has warned that a "critical" flaw in the latest versions of its Windows operating system could allow hackers to access a person's computer.
In its monthly security bulletin, the world's largest software maker said Windows versions NT, 2000, XP and Server 2003 were affected."

Article (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/3477899.stm)

Go here (http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp) to run MS update utility. I suggest downloading all "Critical" updates. Dial-up users, it may take a while, but it's worth it.

While you are at it up-date your anti-virus software too.

Hey Penguin guys.....even I am getting a little tired of this...geez. Weekly "Critical" up-dates are becoming the norm.  :P

Safe Surfing,
Mark

Linux and BSD people have problems too.
I think we just have more fun with them.
Paul might disagree with that, but he runs Samba.

Excuse me while I duck.

Mark,
I went to down load the updates for Linux-mandrake and it was 400MB, of courses this was security patches, bug fixes and program updates for a 10 month period, and they were all installed automatically without a reboot.

I am sad to say all of my Linux distro's are down, the one that works, Mozilla crashes on, either it is a hardware problem or user malfunction or both. I' will have to make sure there is no hard drive errors before I go further.
