Title: Are any of you psychic? Post by aprilbee on Feb 10th, 2004, 9:01am I believe I am, (not those crazy people with the huge ball and head dress) I have had many experiences that I just can't explain, and I am just curious if anyone else has that "I've been here before" feeling, or feel like someone is in the room with you when you're alone or anything like that I am being completely serious. And I do not want to offend anyone who doesn't believe in psychic abilities, so please don't flame me :) I saw a program the other night called unexplained mysteries and it talked about psychics, and these expert people talked about how most people with psychic abilities have been in accidents and received some sort of brain damage among other things, they also said that many of them have cluster headaches,(not because of an accident!) but I heard cluster headaches and went "WOA!" Maybe its because we use a larger or different part of our brains or something like that? I'm just curious and EXTREMELY serious if anyone feels like they are psychic (for lack of a better term) I'll tell some stories depending on the response I get here, I really really want to know how many of us here feel this way? For me,it's when someone I hav'nt seen in a while enters my thoughts out of nowhere, within 30 sec.the phone rings and it's that person...Or,if I'm out and it happens,I'll look around and there they are. I was at work one day and thought about a friend from school.I don't know why..I had'nt seen him for 20 years. I even brought him up to my co-worker and while we were talking about him he walks up. He happen to be in the area. Swear to god. Happens all the time. Kinda freaks me out sometimes but I'm used to it.....cool thread. ...Mark. |

I just think that some people are more in tune with it and others not at all. My wife works with a gal that can see a persons near future with AMAZING accuracy. This is no joke she is accurate in the high 80-90 percentile range, none of the vague phoney stuff either. I'm told she has predicted sicknesses and deaths in individuals and their distant relatives without so much as a word spoken to her or having known ANYTHING about that person previously. :o Oh and that "slider" thing happens to me all the time. One year at our company picnic, we had about 2000 people there. Of course, a company picnic that large is incomplete without very cool prizes. All the prizes would go to random people drawn out of a huge barrel. I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt I would win the top prize (out of at least 100 prizes). I told everyone there that it would be me. I wasn't just saying it hopefully, I damn well knew it would be me. I even made everyone around me stop talking to hear my name called, and wouldn't you know it they called a different name. Everybody laughed at me, but I knew (still) the prize would be mine. Unfortunately for that guy, you had to be present to win and he had left early. (prize drawings are usually meant to keep people at the picnic 'till the end). Of course, the next name they pulled was mine. $2000 cash in my pocket. You should have seen the looks on their faces as I said "I told you". This happens to me all the time. I only wish I had some control over the things that I 'know'. I don't have any control over it, but when I know, I know. I knew my friend Sandy would not die last year, that she would get a lung transplant even though the odds were astronomically against her. I saw it in a vision, and I knew it would come to pass. Of course, it did, and she will tell you how serious I was when I was trying to tell her on her 'death bed' that it was not over yet. I've also seen my own death. Post by hopefull on Feb 10th, 2004, 12:20pm ..I've only had one One day I woke up thinking of my Uncle and thought he was dead felt all the emotions you would feel (hit in the stomach come to mind) then felt no my Dad would have called me.... This happen for an entire week then one morning I did't think about him .....he never came to mind Till my Dad called that morning and said that my uncles daughter was killed in an auto accident in the middle of the night...... If your a parent you can relate to how that would be like die'n...at least thats my take on it ....I seemed to know that something was going to happen to him...that would end his life as he knew it...... It un-nerved me I don't tell people about it and never said anything to my uncle cause what do you say.....I had a feeling?.... It realy disturbs me emotionally even though I know there was nothing I could have done...... What would you have done if you had been the one I called and said I've had this feeling.... |

When I was a teenager I was dating this guy who lived 2 hours away from me. I described where he lived and his apt. to a T. I also saw in a vision the night he cheated on me. I knew the womans name and that she was oriental and exactly what they did together. I always knew when suprise tests where comming up in school. Latter on in my mid 20's I met a woman who claimed to be phycic. She got me interested in tapping into the future. I am able to determine who will win the kentucky derby or preakness or car races or football games with most suprising acuracy. I even went as far as to say one time that the lead horse would break his leg in the race and the other horse would win. Exactly what happened. This really started to scare me the powers that I had. So I choose not to use them anymore. |

My CH started at the same time my first encounter with the spirit world did. ( 2 college roommates saw someone behind me with their arms around me, and moved out the next day ) I had never put the 2 together before. wont my Dr. love to hear that analogy! He will send me to a shrink for sure! It will be hard to prove a corrilation. Have you heard about the new research that most CH sufferers are also bi-polar ? and that similar medications help IE lithium, and such. I wonder how many of us are also bi -polar ? dodie |

The other, I was coming home from a Party one night and (having cotton-mouth badly) needed to stop and get a soda. I stopped in the parking lot of a gas station (not in a particularly good part of town). Again, that overwhelming feeling that something wasn't right. I went in anyway and grabbed a bottle of pepsi. At the counter was one other person in line ahead of me and shortly after I walked in someone else had also come in. As the three of us stood in line waiting to pay, the guy (kid) behind me whispered in my ear "hey" "I'm gonna rob this MF'er" I turned and there was a very young kid (idiot actually) with a 40oz. bottle of beer holding his coat open revealing a 38 cal. snub nose revolver. I said, "Well, thanks for the warning, but if you don't mind I'd like to be gone before you do. It'll save me money (since I only got two bucks) and both of us hassle later so I don't have to be a witness and talk to the police." " I'll leave, and you can go about your business." (we were in the ghetto and this was a VERY young black youth obviously his first crime, gang initiation I assume). Ironically, he was very complacent "sure" he said. Then I turned again and said "hey... I don't really agree or care much about what you are about to do, but please, if you are gonna go through with this don't shoot anyone over the $20 bucks in the register its not worth the time you'll do, you are way to young." " besides, I know the guy behind the counter and he has kids to raise." Having said that, I paid and left.... I don't think he ever went through with it, there were no incidents listed in the next day's news about the place being robbed. coincidence or clairvoyance? either way I saved a guy's life, with rational talk. Post by Margi on Feb 10th, 2004, 2:43pm Floridian, I used to put huge stock in the circadian rythm theory too and continually was amazed at how regular Mike's cycles were in the early years (spring and fall- almost to the day of the equinox). Then came the year that he missed a spring cycle. Had the fall cycle. Then a two year remission. Went through, what, 8 season changes and no cycle. Then at when fall hit - a six month cycle ensued. Another two year remission, currently in month 4 of a cycle that started in fall. Kinda blows the circadian theory outta the water doesn't it? Very common for clusterheads to have longer remissions/longer cycles as they age and the season patter disappears. I'm thinking that's more of a hormonal thing - maybe he's in MANopause now? As to the comment earlier about treating clusters with lithium and comparing CH to bipolarism....the lithium dose for clusterheads is about half that for bi-polars. This question has been raised here before - we couldn't find a pattern or connection between the two disorders. Just that they kind of fall into the same category of disorders (being hormonal/circadian/lithium respondent). K, I'll shut up now. :-X |

I also knew that if I got pregnant (which wasn't supposed to happen because the docs thought I was sterile), it would be a boy, and he would be the 1st born to carry on my father-in-laws last name (which did happened last spring). The slider thing happens to me a lot. Like the street lights going off when I pass directly beneath them, and my sons toys coming on with no one around but me (I hate this one, always scares the shit outta me). I wish I knew why this stuff happens to me, but maybe I'm not supposed to. It happens, and I accept it. :-/ p.s. I'm not bi-polar, but my mother was, and her mom (my grandmother), had shock treatment. All I remember my mom saying about my grandma, was that she thought there were worms crawling all over her... |

For chronics, it may have no influence. My guess is that for many, the circadian influence would weaken over time (no evidence, just a feeling). Other unknown influences (diet, disease, body biochem, sinuses, whatever) can block a cycle, or add a cycle or convert someone to chronic. There is a pretty strong calendar influence on hospital admission for psychiatric conditions. Again, it isn't 1:1 and some people have problems regardless of the calendar. On other general thoughts - Most of my predictions, premonitions and prognostications I attribute to pattern recognition/completion by the subconcious mind. But who knows? Weird stuff happens, but for me, not so weird or so often that I "know". The "song on the radio" thing is very annoying to me - but I discovered it was from my fillings. However I can relate to everyone here seriously, but this conversation can go really deep...to deep for me. I always called it a sixth sense, not a phsyc thing. There are people who have a gift however and its definately not me.. maybe a sixth sense but I'll leave it there ;;D I don't know if you peepes might remember GLORIA, she was famous at the time god rest her soul. My mother paid a visit to her (for money) and she did the weirdest things, scarey stuff. I'll explain breifly......she sat my mother down and said Mary my stomach hurts really bad, "mom started to giggle..this lady's a nut she thought" she said again my stomach is really hurting Mary I mean it. Then Gloria began to pace holding her arm yelling make it stop mommy make it stop. My mother got up and left the room, she didn't like it and left. She said the lady is a fruit cake and should be locked up in a mental institution or something. Well........2 weeks later I (7 at the time) broke my arm skateboarding down Sumner Street in three places. Bones sticking out and all. Guess what I was saying and doing................. 6 monthes pass Mom gets up in the middle of the night with uncontrollable pain in her stomach and goes to the ER......guess what, she had an 8 inch tumor in her belly, can you believe it, its freaky. Mom never saw Gloria again......but we are believers, believers that only a few might and thats a big FEW have the real deal. Post by Jimmy_B on Feb 11th, 2004, 7:21am If anyone was really psychic...they would've answered this thread before it started....but seriously wanta hear something really eerie...well two somethings really eerie: When I was about 4 years old I had this recurring dream where me & my father were driving home & on a street about 1/4 mile from our house....this loud fire siren starts...you know the one that sounds like an air raid siren telling all the Firemen to come to the firehouse...well anyway this ambulance pulls up behind our car & the occupants proceed to butcher us. And within months of that dream my father died of a massive Heart Attack while he was baby-sitting me. To this day I still get panicky whenever a hear a Fire Siren. :o Also had a dream where my family pet was lost & when we found him there was nothing but fur...within months he had to be put to sleep. I have things happen to me all of the time, that I just can't explain. I've had the car radio, and pains in wierd places only to find out a loved one has been injured, dreams that loved ones are gone and then the pass away, I've felt my legs and arms being touched and no one else in the room. I really think that it has a lot to do with the parts or percentage of the brain we use, think about it... we have to try to turn somethign off when we are in pain, some how some way, and maybe we have learned to control something that isn't abstract? It has been great reading your stories, and also your jokes, you can't talk about this stuff without the jokes! As always my family makes me laugh and keeps my spirits up! Love to ya'll |

I went to a psychic and she asked me if I had yet realized that I do. I just kind of laughed it off but all that stuff happends to me too with songs and having dreams of babies being born (which is supposed to mean someone is going to die) and the next day someone does. After I had my second child I went to another one for kicks. This one has been known for working with police in solving crimes. She said that when she looks at me the left side of my face is bright red meaning pain, and then she asked if I had a problem with the right side of my head. Ahh those cluster headaches can be shown to psychics but what about those docs. errr. Belle ::) |

Honestly there is a big difference between someone being a medium and someon being claravoyant / psychic. I do believe in the spirit realm and have seen and talked to spirits. I read tarot, runes and talk on a spirit board. Yes I do believe that I am a mild psychic. Tarot cards really will never tell you anything that you do not already now, even if that is on a sub concious level. ie you know your husband is cheating on you but you dont want to admit it. But while doing a reading, there are times when I will get a sence of urgentcy that I 'know" means that something is going to happen very soon, like in the next few days. Or it is something that is drastically going to change this persons life. Or if the card signafies a male and Iwill get a feeling or see what the person looks like. Those are times when I feel that yes I am connected to my ability and I share that with the person that I am doing the readng for. The same way that both my sister and I can see peoples auras. My sister can tell who the last person was to touch something because of the residue that is left on the item. I can see where a person is sick because of the change in colors of their aura. At 6 I knew that my minister was getting very sick because it looked like he was walking around in a cloud of smoke. 2 weeks later we were told that he had advanced cancer. Like it was said, many parents can tell what thier kids are doing. It is because you are connected to them. I generally consider it a talent like any other. I've always been somewhat intuitive and clairvoyant. People are surprisingly public with their thoughts. It's never anything I *try* to do. It just happens. A few cases in point: My sister was joking with my mom and asked my mom what she had bought my sister for her birthday. My mom just smiled and of course, wouldn't tell her. The image of what she had bought my sister flashed into my head, though. I knew it was a gold watch. I had a dream that I went home on leave from the Army, and that I had bought a silver camaro with turquoise and red stripes. My sister was more excited about it than I was, and was driving it recklessly into a small garage, going on about how she was going to drive my car while I was gone, and meanwhile, all of these toys and highchairs and stuff were falling out of the rafters in the garage on top of me. Suddenly, I was alone, trying to pump up a tire in the driveway, but no air would stay in it. Less than six months later, my sister disowned me, spread a bunch of lies about me to my family, and refused to accept any phone calls or letters from me, or give me a reason why she was acting the way she was. We had also found my maternal mother, with whom we had had no contact for over twenty years, but while I was stationed in Japan, my sister managed to convince her that I was a psycho with a drug problem and all sorts of other vile crap. Any attempt at salvaging our relationship has been futile. I also had lots of dreams that she was drowning me, when I was younger. :-X I often "Know" things. Within five minutes of shaking somoene's hand and talking to them, I know what kind of person they are. When I used to ride the commuter trains in Japan, I ended up carrying a Walkman with me and playing loud music to drown out the stuff that people were throwing out there. Human consciousness is, for the most part, a cesspool of desire, attachment, gnitpicking, gossip, and backbiting. Not very pleasant at all. I had a friend of mine who was getting ready to tell me a dream that she'd had. I stopped her and told her what her dream was. It freaked her out. Picking the lottery, horse races, and that sort of thing isn't anything I've ever been interested in doing, and when I "try," this... gift?... doesn't work. When I'm relaxed and not projecting my own wishes and desires onto it, it seems most strong. I've also had a number of out-of-body experiences. I've never seen ghosts, but I "sense" them. I can also sense places where tragedy has taken place. When I sense something like this, I get goosebumps all over and my eyes well up with tears. Not sorrow or inspiration or anything like that. The tears come because the Knowing is so powerful. I've also had premonitions, (most notably, on Sept. 10th, 2001. I wrote a poem that was out of character with anything else I've ever written, filled with lots of foreboding and military and medical jargon. I didn't know where it came from or why I wrote it. The next morning, however, I found out.) :'( I also have had that streetlight thing happen, as well as lights in rooms turn on or off, and lightbulbs blowing when I've hit the switch, and humming a song only to hear it when I turn on the radio. Fortunately, my credit cards are still okay. (Well, on the verge of being over-extended, but still operational!) Hee hee.... |

In high scholl anytime I was out with friends streetlights would go out anytime I was with them. They would joke about my magnetic personality at first, but they it sort of freaked them out when it kept happening. I woke up one morning at age 8 and asked my Mom when grandmas funeral was going be. The nursing home called to tell her of Grandma's passing just 10 minutes later. I've been reading tarot cards now for about 6 years. Have definatively predicted the sex of babies to be born. Of 13 I've predicted I have yet to be wrong, and I do the readings as soon as they know they are PG, so even an ultra sound can't conclude it first. Let me see. I can't keep credit or tyme cards. The never work. And in my homes or apts. the ligh bulbs blow way before they ever should. (damn thats not cheap either). Another mystery problem is with remote controls around here. The don't like to work very long. And battery powered things the batteries go dead in things way faster than for other people. I'ts weird, but hey...people already think we are nuts. |
