Title: guess what subject might be Post by RENNY on Feb 1st, 2004, 3:48am hello anyone who might be there. I've had these miserable beasts since I was 17, but not continuously thank SOMEONE! Mine started almost a year to the day after a car accident in which I suffered some head trauma...on opposite side of head....at any rate they only occurred in periodic episodes and were initially seriously death threatening scary, ie, no drs could find cause, I was gonna die from unexplained anuerism, etc...after numerous tests like y'all have had cluster beasts were diagnosed. They almost became extinct then rose their filthy heads again 3 yrs ago after lying dormant for 24 yrs, I'll save you the math, I'm 42 now.Last years episodes were the most horrid, excruciating, kill me now pain situations I literally was ready to end it, I couldn't believe they were back and I instinctively knew how bad it was gonna be even after all these years...so I got on Imitrex and truly it saved my life. Two months later the imitrex started to slay the beast...I thought he was dead but I guess not...I am really really pissed. Forgive the language ...the only thing different in my life besides the usual stress of job, family and just trying is I have been eating frozen dinners, 3 this past week...know they are filled w/msg...could this be it? For those of you who haven't tried it, Imitrex works...if you can catch it soon enough. This particular monster has been showing his colors for the past 2 days, I was trying to ignore him and make him leave but he got me on my way home from work 3 hrs ago, he is subdued but like y'all know he will awaken me 1 hour after I go to bed...ya know, just writing this HAS to help!!! So. Thanx for listening. I will be here for duration, I feel for everyone and hope somehow we can beat this!!! Karen |

Title: Re: guess what subject might be Post by Kirk on Feb 1st, 2004, 8:14am I have not had any reaction to MSG or other food additives. I can detox off them or eat them. Makes no nevermind to the beast. Like others here, I would suggest you investigate O2. Or rather I urge you to get O2. No thats not right either. Get some O2 NOW!. TTFN [smiley=smokin.gif] |

Title: Re: guess what subject might be Post by Giovanni on Feb 1st, 2004, 8:46am Hi Karen, Many of us have had luck with verapamil as a preventative. This usually takes awhile to get into your system and start working in dosages of 240 and up. Also, look up the links with melatonin as it has helped in some way about 50% of us. O2 in the configuration suggested to the left would be a good addition to the imitrex as to limited the quantities of imitrex. Some believe here that imitrex will prolong your cycle. We wish you a speedy end to your cycle. Best of luck. John :-/ |

Title: Re: guess what subject might be Post by Melissa on Feb 1st, 2004, 8:46am MSG can be a trigger for the attacks, but not the cause. Please click on this link: http://www.clusterheadaches.org for more information. I am glad you have found imitrex. Some, unfortunately, cannot take trex because of heart and BP problems. Anyhow, I'm very sorry to hear you suffer from clusters, but this is the best place to be for your condition. take care, :)mel |

Don't say this...... I'm going on 13 years dormant. :-/ Quote:
Aaaarrggghh.....Don't say this either. I'd be dead without my plastic frozen dinners with spices of mass indigestion. Good luck and let us know how you're getting along. Charlie |
