Folks,

This virus breakout is one of the worst seen so far. Do not, under any circumstances, open a file delivered to you in email if you didn't ask for it or you know exactly where it came from. This virus is spreading extremely fast, so you will see it eventually. Also, don't be surprised if web and email are slightly disrupted for at least 24 hours.

Even has a DDoS component targeting sco.com. I wish they would stop that. Gives people the wrong impression.

i know enough not to open stuff and all that - good advice any time - really - right?

I wish some of my clients did.

Had one burning the midnight oil last night [prior to the virus-definiton update download] who just couldn't resist opening each and every email that came in.

Now the whole corp. email system is down while i run scans and repairs on an 18 gig-a-byte database...ugh!

guys 'n gals, even worse: got an e-mail from a trusty old friend - but it had an attachment which had two viruses rolled into one.

I have mailed him to tell him his addy must have been e-jacked by a virus (or something).

Norton was extraordinarily busy today.

Man, but this little bugger is working overtime. I got one, the wife got 6, all in the last 2 hours. Everything seems to have been caught on the way in the front door........but I'm still using the free util from Bitware graciously provided by Svenn.
