Title: May have a new career Post by RevDeFord on Jan 25th, 2004, 8:25am Been praying for a long time because I am vastly underpaid for what I do in my secular job. I could go to KC or St. Louis and make $60,000 plus for what I do....probably more. I do 2 mil a year in sales and make 18 grand plus benefits. Doesn't seem right does it? Well, I am considering a position with a reputable national company. I would be a membership representative and would be making more than double my current salary plus commission. It isn't doing networking and computers anymore, but it will be good nonetheless. I would work out of my home office. I am told out of 12 applicants that I am the only one being considered. I aced the psycological and sales style test, so my information has been forwarded to the manager in charge of midwest operations for final interview. Just wanted to let my CH family know. |

Title: Re: May have a new career Post by RevDeFord on Jan 25th, 2004, 11:15pm YEah jonny, considering I do Enhanced 911 centers and corporate networks and security, I would say 18,000 is way too small a salary. But I am forced to stay here because my wife's family is from here. Price I gotta pay I guess. What I can't figure out is why so many people around here have 300,000 homes. What kind of jobs do they have? Our hospital is small and can't have more than 40 doctors. |

Title: Re: May have a new career Post by BobG on Jan 26th, 2004, 12:42am 18 grand a year? Isn't that below the poverty level? And your wife's family is stopping you from a 60 grand a year job? If that's ok with you it's ok with me but, .......... well, you know. Good luck on the new job application. We have a lot of $250-300 thousand+ houses here too but if you go look inside of a lot of them there is no furniture, no food, just slaves to their mortgage trying to impress the neighbors. |

Title: Re: May have a new career Post by Callico_Kid on Jan 26th, 2004, 1:02am I have to say ditto to Bob. I painted a couple of rooms in one a couple of years ago that sold for $500,000, and they had no furniture in the living room or dining room. They were so strapped for cash they had to write checks off of two credit cards to pay a $400 bill. Sounds good Rev. We'll pray with you about it. jc |
