Hi everyone,
I have missed this board while I was away, but I get a few more days to wander around on a pass. I am on my final pass this time, so I will be saying those dreadful goodbyes and packing my stuff to go. Our deployment ceremony is on the 7th of Feb. From there we go on to the National Training Center at Ft Irwin, Ca. for our deployment qualification, which could be 10 days to three weeks. From NTC we ship out to Kuwait, to acclimate and continue training for a few weeks before we move into Baghdad. It's getting closer!!
I'd love hear from you guys before I go, I don't know when and if I will be able to access this board after we deploy, but I will be in and out until this Monday morning.

It's been a while since I went through the feelings you are going through, right now. The exhilaration of what's coming & the apprehension of not knowing.

I would do it again, if I could. But they don't need a slow old man like me out there.

hiya neighbor!
and best of luck...my hubby is also with that group thats heading out from lewis soon...its a hard time dealing with CH's and deployment at the same time...will see ya at the ceremony on the 7th! so even if we dont know each other you know there is another cluster head out there pullin for ya...imitrex on hand! lol

Stay safe!! my nephew (in-law) Christopher that Billy put you in contact with just got back from Iraq!!! :) :) He arrived back at Fort Bragg N.C. about 1 am today We hope to see them up here in N.Y. the middle of next month Wooo hooo.now he's gotta get used to driving a car instead of a humvey.I will pray for your safe return.

Hey Jason you have to give this link to your mom its for Marine Parents.com....http://www.marinemoms.us/usmc/ It is a wonderful support group much like Ch.com and they welcome everyone in the service as well as their parents. There is 3 chat rooms a message board and lots of stories to share... tell her please... and keep in mind that my son will be there too flying a kiowa look him up if you get into Bagdad... his name is Scott Munger

My friend, my brother, be safe, and THANK YOU!

I am SO pleased to see how well our service men and women are treated in today's society! How well I remember being spit on, when walking down the street, in uniform, during my time in the Navy, from 1968 to 1972! What a Difference!

Thank the Lord, that even though many feel the president was wrong (as many of us did in the 60-70's)in sending troops over there, we are behind, and proud of those that do go over!

To all those who serve today, tomorrow, yesterday, and yesteryear, I THANK YOU!
