Title: Re: Your OUCH advocacy team Post by ozzman on Jan 21st, 2004, 10:41am To reiterate Cat's message, the Advocacy and PANJ are working very hard on making sure that in the future *if* you end up at the ER, you will be treated as a Cluster patient and with dignity. This does not only affect one hospital in Sothern New Jersey, it has national implications. If you want to read more, go to the link above and join OUCH. It is amazing what kind of contacts you can come up with if you're paying attention, things don't just fall on people's laps, we work hard to obtain them. You can too. Ozzy |

Title: team travel Post by Mr.Happy on Jan 25th, 2004, 4:12pm Sure hope the Bobsie Twins keep us updated with this weeks travel attractions. Should be interesting. They'll be here in the Philly area in a few hours......just ahead of the snowstorm on their heels. Tomorrow morning, they'll be driving north to Stamford in a day long dirge of snow, sleet and ice. They may be a tad late for dinner....... |

Title: Re: Your OUCH advocacy team Post by TomM on Jan 25th, 2004, 6:17pm The 'Twins' left my place a little after 5:00 PM, Randy. They are ahead of the snow. The drive from Bowie (between DC and Annapolis, MD) to Philly is about 3 hours, right? I would expect them by 8:00 PM. At the risk of getting mushy these two ladies are the friendliest and most congenial I have ever met. I will post a picture later. TomM |

Most congenital would be closer to the mark. We ate dinner. They were starved. Even the fortune cookies were nervous. It was 9:30. We found a Watering Hole nearby. Not much of a place, but it had a truly impressive stainless steel pisser. WE got `em back to the motel. Roxy really fukked with the night desk guy......."Where can I plug in my truck?" Texans, diesels, and BBQ grills. Sheesh. A short while later, even Joe started looking cute. It was time to go. Big "doin's" coming up this week. NECH, next stop. God help New England, RJ |

I offered them food AND drink. They refused. Too polite for the first meeting, perhaps? Hmmm. I think the return stop will be a little different. Hell, I'll offer each of them a warm bed for the night. TomM |

Does she bring her own extension cord? [smiley=huh.gif] I'll bet I have the answer. My in-law's in PennsylTuckey thought I was nuts when I'd bring my Mercedes 300SD Turbodiesel to thier place in the winter and ask "Where can I plug it in?" The neighbors always asked "Is that some kind of 'lectric Cadilliac car?" I'd just shake my head and say "Yup." Anyone who owns a diesel knows what a block heater is all about. I got one in the Expedition and she's gas. Rox--If ya spend the night at my place, I got cords to keep your Bubba warm. [smiley=thumb.gif] TomM |

You do not yet know just how true that statement is. Mind boggling, earth shaking, unbelievable things happened today. Beyond our wildest dreams folks. For those that experienced what happened at the convention with Lori and Marcelo, and how far that advanced us, it's at least 10 fold to what happened that weekend. In 2 days of meetings with NECH and Glaxo we are reeling at what has just happened. We have a great deal of work to do (OUCH, CH'ers and just Rox and I tonight) so you will have to give us the opportunity to get it organized and presented to you. If ever you needed a reason to join OUCH, you will never see a better reason than what we will show you. Amazing, extraordinary things. And Tom, yes she has her own extension cord LOL. We'll get you the info as soon as we can, but know that we have shaken the foundation of the pharmaceutical giant known as Glaxo on just how important CH'ers are to their trex empire. Cutting edge folks ... cutting edge. Fasten your seat belts...it's going VERY fast now. Cat |
