Title: NON CH - Just a pity party!
Post by Renee on Jan 19th, 2004, 9:25pm
hi gang,

Nothing spectacular to say here.  Just expressing a hard time I'm having right now.

1.  I'm recovering from food poison and haven't been able to absorb my meds very well at all...not good.

2. One of my employees and his wife have been trying to have a baby for 3 years.  She finally got preg 2 months ago with aid of fertilization meds, but the baby hasn't grown any in 3 weeks and the mom's hormone levels indicate she will not hold this baby.  They lost their only other baby to SID's 6 years ago.

3.  My podiatrist (and friend) suffered a brain aneurism while taking down xmas lights 2 weeks ago.  Today he quit responding to any pain stimuli and they are taking him off of the life support tomorrow and are discussing organ donation tonight.   He is 50 with a wife and two girls attending Auburn.

4.  Everyday that I go to work lately I get one step forward and 5 steps back.  This is a novel in itself so I will spare you the specifics other than I'm overstressed and exhausted.

Not much else here to report!  Just putting my feelings and sorrow into words, I guess!

:'(   :'(   :'(   :'(

ahhhhhhhhhhh God Bless Renee... I can hear ya!!!  Had a dreadful holiday season this year one thing after another.... just don't say it cannot get any worse... sometimes the fates have a terrible sense of humor...
Instead get yourself to the moment, absorb it, morn and grieve and believe that life has as many new gifts as it does  past heartache........ I am so sorry for your troubles.  Here's to better days...

Sincerely and with love to you Ree

My feelings go out to you Renee and to those who surround you in your life.  Take care of yourself and be strong if you can, so to be there for those who need you.  Your unselfish giving of support to others when you are also suffering and not in great spirits is a true act of compassion and strength.  Please though, do not spread yourself too thin, keep some strength for yourself, many people need you and your understanding.  You have my compassion, keep going and don't let all this get to you, it seems a lot.  You are an example for all of us.  I don't have much but others have:

'Example is not the main thing influencing others.  It is the only thing.               -Albert Schweitzer

"Oh, a trouble's a ton, or a trouble's an ounce.  Or a trouble is what you make it.
And it's not the fact that you hurt that counts, but only how did you take it.          -Edmund Vance Cooke

Oh my!  I wish, as so many on here wish, that I could make everything better for this family with the wave of a magic wand.  Until I find that little magical wand I'll just send my best vibes and know that you are in my prayers.

Hugs and vibes and good-thoughts,

Hirvimaki

The Buddha was once living at Kosambi in a wood of simsapa trees. He picked up a few leaves in his hand, and he asked the bhikkhus, ‘How do you conceive this, bhikkhus, which is more, the few leaves that I have picked up in my hand or those on the trees in the wood?

‘The leaves that the Blessed One has picked up in his hand are few, Lord; those in the wood are far more.’

‘So too, bhikkhus, the things that I have known by direct knowledge are more; the things that I have told you are only a few. Why have I not told them? Because they bring no benefit, no advancement in the Holy Life, and because they do not lead to dispassion, to fading, to ceasing, to stilling, to direct knowledge, to enlightenment, to Nirvana. That is why I have not told them. And what have I told you? This is suffering; this is the origin of suffering; this is the cessation of suffering; this is the way leading to the cessation of suffering. That is what I have told you. Why have I told it? Because it brings benefit, and advancement in the Holy Life, and because it leads to dispassion, to fading, to ceasing, to stilling, to direct knowledge, to enlightenment, to Nibbana. So bhikkhus, let your task be this: This is suffering; this is the origin of suffering; this is the cessation of suffering; this is the way leading to the cessation of suffering.’
