Title: disabbilyty Post by J.ten_Dam on Jan 19th, 2004, 12:37pm Hi guys, I have been away a while again but am back with good news for myself :D. Today I heard that they have classified me 100% disabeled because of Cronic CH this is being started from july 2003. The Doctor that checked me did not agree but the social security oversteped him because with all my sick leaves they realized it was nearly inpossible to work. Just some more info I now only use Melatonin 12mg every night and it works just as well as Verampamiel without the side effects. (speach problems tierdness, other headachkes, constipation and wheight gain). |

Title: Re: disabbilyty Post by athos12 on Jan 19th, 2004, 12:41pm that is good news... with this past bout that has me in its hold I looked into it briefly, but not sure that I could afford to go on disability.... Unless I am wrong... Maybe I need to look further and see what everything comes out to be Again I am glad that is working for you. --Athos |

Title: Re: disabbilyty Post by Dave_Emond on Jan 20th, 2004, 1:56am Fantastic Joke! Wow! we haven't talked in a long time, didn't recognize your new screen name. We talked through E-mail about this and many other things quite often a while back. Would like to hear from you again my friend over there in the Netherlands! Please write soon :D Dave Note for Renee: Quote:
Renee, please write me about your situation. I've been researching disability and CH for over two years. It's been a bigger task than I could have ever imagined, but from what I've learned, I may be able to help you. If so, everything we discuss must be completely honest. Any others out there who are having difficulty with SSA, I may be able to help you as well. One thing you should know about me though on this, if I become involved with helping someone through disabilty, I don't play games with it. I would NEVER help anyone trying to scam the system. I would not help anyone not willing to help themselves regain self sufficiency. Honesty is the key. Sorry if this comes across as strict, but I've had those in the past who have tried to use my knowledge in this area to scam me and the system, but I can see through that very easily. I will help those in true need, everything honest at all times. Dave |

Title: Re: disabbilyty Post by gore2424 on Jan 20th, 2004, 9:37am Hello everyone my name is Terry and I live in Iowa. I got layed off from work last Jan. due to a staff reduction (yeah right). I was missing too much work and life was hell I was always in basement pacing banging my head on wall before I turned to go to other wall. I have been caught in garage pounding my foot toes with hammer to try to draw pain away from head. Was going to ER every 7-10 days for a shot for the pain. I went as far as going to Mayo and they cut nerve on right side of face leaving it all numb for my lifetime but only got 3 months relief. Talk about going into depression. So with-in the month I filled for diability. Was deined 4 months later and had to do the appeal thing. This time I got every record I could find going back 10 or more years. Plus I wrote a 17 (front and back) page of what my life has been since I went chronic in Nov. 1999. And also in this letter I wrote down every med I was on at the time and their side effects. I was aproved in Nov last year and was paid for 3 months because after they make decission for disablity they take off 5 months from when you filed the very first time and pay you back pay. I was very lucky that my unemployment lasted til 3 days before aproval. I hope that helps you its just give them all info you can and go back as far as you can on the records and write them and let them know the quality of your life and the meds effects on you and family and your job if working. If I can help anyone I will but please please dont contact me if you are trying to scam the system. Its not fair for others that really need it. Terry (gore2424@aol.com) |

Title: Re: disabbilyty Post by J.ten_Dam on Jan 21st, 2004, 12:18pm what I started doeing 1 and 1/2 years ago is: everytime I got hit I called in at the unemploiment department. When I had agood day I called in better. About November last year they phoned me up and asked me not to keep calling in better anymore unless I was sure I could work at least two weeks without caling in sick. Well you guesed it. I havent had two weeks break since I became chronic in 1998. |
