Title: I no longer have to travel without my imitrex! Post by Elaine on Jan 17th, 2004, 5:27pm My old doctor moved two hours away from me, so I had to change doctors. This is my primiary doctor. I went today for other problems. I been sick since before Christmas and I get better then get sick again. This doctor is cool. I had all kinds of test run. I got just a few problems. My blood is way to thick so I am now on a blood thinner. They put me back on meds for high clostrol.Zorcor They put me back on my medapause med Estropip They found out how come I been drunk with out drinking LOL I have fluid behind my ear. They gave me Panmist DM for that and my cough and congestion. The best part of the visit was she saw I had clusters and said it is so sad nothing can be done. I asked her if she would be offended if I told her she was wrong. She and I had a long talk. I gave her the O.U.C.H. site addres so she could read it. I am droping her off some of our old brochures. I told her I had stocked pilled imitrex when I had it but I no longer had a scrip for it and when I went out of town I had to go without. The lady said you don't have to worry any more. I can now take my imitrex without worrie :-)! Now when I get ready to go I can just drop by her office for a letter from her. Oh and my MRI came out fine as always ! In a week or so I will be back new again and be ready to takle the world. |

Title: Re: I no longer have to travel without my imitrex! Post by t_h_b on Jan 18th, 2004, 11:14am Elaine, insulin syringes and vials of Imitex are allowed to be carried on board airplanes. The medication must be in a regularly-labeled container. Nowhere does it say on the "Safety Board's" site that syringes and needles aren't allowed and it specifically says they are when it talks about diabetics and those with injectable medications. |

Title: Re: I no longer have to travel without my imitrex! Post by Roxy on Jan 18th, 2004, 11:47am E....if that was you in Iowa not feeling good.....I hate to see you when you're back at full speed. No one will be able to keep up with you. Glad you got all the meds you need, and I hope they work fast for you. For those who do worry about flying with their syringes.....DON'T WORRY!! They did massive searches on me coming back from Iowa, and I had syringes laying every where. Three packages in my suitcase, and probably 7 or 8 loose ones lying around in my purse. They never looked twice at them, and didn't ask anything about them. They seemed to have issues with scotch though.... ;;D |

Title: Re: I no longer have to travel without my imitrex! Post by fubar on Jan 18th, 2004, 12:01pm Technically, if you are traveling with prescription medications, you should have the prescription with you. [actually, the medicine needs to be labeled properly with you name, the doctor's name, the pharmacy's name and the prescription number] They can press federal charges if you are caught with prescription meds that you do not have a prescription for. I have never heard of this law being applied to anybody other then people who are found with quantities of schedule 1 narcotics (Vicadin, Percocet, etc.) Elaine, I'm glad you're 'safe' now but you probably didn't need to worry about it. I've made hundreds of flights with my Imitrex at my side, even took a shot on the plane before, and they've never asked one question about it. -Fu |

Title: Re: I no longer have to travel without my imitrex! Post by Elaine on Jan 18th, 2004, 12:04pm Thats cause they were afraid you would mix your own drink on the plane and they would be out $4 a drink ;) Roxey where did you get that neat little case you carry your meds in? I ment to ask you. I am glad it did not show. Its hard to feel bad around you guys. That Dan, Blake, and Norm kept my side hurtting from laughing so hard. I went to bed early at night :-( I even took napps. I missed all the good stuff, like the cops and the window yelling LOL. I was a good girl this trip ! |
