Just a suggestion..........don't know if you already do this or not.

I use ice cold compresses to the temple area and the neck area. It really seems to help. Some folks here, use heat. They will get in a hot shower when the headache starts, and let the hot water soothe.

Another thing I did that really helped......I slept on the sofa for 3 weeks. I propped pillows up and slept in a reclining position. Something about lying flat in the bed scared the hell outta me. You could, of course, do the same with a recliner.

I also used the Frova. Not many here have had very good luck with it. For me, it shortened the time of the headache. Went from an hour and 1/2 to 13 to 18 minutes. Also, would have a hot strong cup of coffee. This also helped me alot.

You really must read the info here.....you will be amazed at the things that will work.

I just want to cry reading this post......nothing like a vivid recollection of the pain :'( Sorry to hear that you are suffering so much!!!! We'll all be here for you to help you hang in there!!!!

try this: this only works for me if I catch it in time and there is a VERY small window of opportunity :( if you miss that "window" then you're screwed :( ..........If you have can lights in your ceilings then park a chair under a can light.....a chair that tilts back a little........stare at the bright light and breathe.......... just breathe (say that while you're staring into the light) "breathe ---- just breathe" ...........

Welcome aboard. Sorry you are in such pain, but at least you have found others who understand what youi are going through.

Two words of advice. Ditch the vicodin and get oxygen. It sounds as though youi have a Dr that is not well versed with CH. In my humble, but correct ;;D, opinion you are being treated for migraine because that is all your doc knows. I am not familiar with isoptin, so can't speak to that. Are you using any preventatives? Verapamil and Lithium have been lifesavers for me.

Please read as much as you can handle and print out what you think is pertinant and take it to your next meeting with yoiur Doc. There is a lot of good info available to you here.

Three words for you to remember as you fight this beast. IT WILL END!!!

Alladin,

Sorry to hear your getting hit so bad by the Beast. Hang in there and remember there will be better days. Like Callico Kid said "Get O2". You need to talk to the doc about Imitrex. Not sure if you've ever tried it, but if NOT, you should for sure give it a try. It works for most Clusterheads.

I agree that this looks funky, but lets give the dude a chance to respond.

Could be the dude has meegraines instead of CH, misdiagnosis maybe?

That or maybe short CH hits consecutively. Mine are normally 3hrs long. But the other day (my personal day from hell) I was getting these short but very intense CH hits all freakin day! Just my 2 cents.....hope he clarifies.
